Crash in a match

I'm completely blocked on a match, i can't continue whether I sim or play

- ctd when i click sim
- random ctd during the match (10-15 sec in i guess)

I think that the problem is that for that match i only have 1 valid goalie so i had to choose a field player to take the role of the 2nd goalie : i am in my early 1st season, a couple match sim or played without problems

specs : up-to-date steam version, integrity files check no problem

historical season, 17-18 with Vancouver, GM only no-challenge mode

btw, can I believe that my coach will not let the provisional goalie to play or should i take control of the match in order to prevent that?

thanks for your help

Yeah, what's most likely happening is the backup goalie is actually on the ice, which will cause a crash - dressing a skater as a goalie is only a workaround to get by the requirements for the number of goalies dressed, he can't actually play goal. If you start the regular goalie manually, there shouldn't be any crash as long as he remains in the game. And, of course, you need to sign or trade for a real backup goalie ASAP, so you don't have to do that with the skater.

and here lies the second part of my problem, I can't sign another player : "this contract demand exceeds your budget"

on my finance sheet I am at -400.000 budget (17 players), but Seattle is at -900.000 (19 players), Portland reached the million (19 players)! how is it possible?

i found a workaround in editing a FA goalie contract to play for me, but I don't understand those numbers, the rosters are not big and budgets roof are completely blown, is it normal?

It looks like something strange is happening to the WCHL budgets in 1917. The NHL seems OK, but it almost looks like some of the western league's expenses aren't being converted to the proper era - the financial screen is showing payroll totals in the millions, when the in-game salaries aren't higher than $2400. I'll have to do some more testing to figure out the exact scope of what's happening, but it definitely needs fixing.
