Having some freezing problems pop-up in different parts of the game.

+1 for the freezing changing roles/strategies.

I get the same exact thing when clicking on widgets while In-Game. Cursor and window can move just fine but nothing is clickable and have to Ctrl+alt+del out of the game.

Just realized it's more than changing roles/strategies. Game freezes when I click on anything in the pre-game menu. I'll check later to see what other things are freezing during a game besides clicking on a player.

For anyone having freezing issues, the first question I'd have would be what programs you have running at the same time as OOTP? Also, what are your system's specs?

To try to narrow down what might be causing problems, try the following: First make sure to create an exception or whitelist OOTP in your anti-virus and firewall programs. Then restart your computer. Then shut down everything non-essential that's running other than OOTP. Then start OOTP up and try playing for a while and see if it still freezes in the same place.

If not, then you'll basically just want to play the game without anything else running in the background, since one of those programs was likely causing issues with the game.

If it still freezes, then mention that here and we can go from there.

For me personally, all I had running was VLC, Steam (offline), and Windows Media Player earlier today. I was playing while completely disconnected from the internet at the time.

I just tried setting an exception in my firewall once I was connecting online a few minutes ago, and had the same result with nothing running in the background and rebooted. I tried while disconnecting from the internet again as well and same thing. I also made sure I was running as admin just in case. My system specs are seen below:

Windows 10 Home 64 bit
i7 7700HQ
16gb RAM
GeForce GTX 1060 6gb
1TB SSD
1 TB HDD

EDIT: A little more info that may or may not help. I made sure my graphics driver was updated. I also re-installed OOTP 19 entirely using the link emailed to me (I had used the link from the forum earlier). I still had the issue. The thing I noticed with the role/strategy switch is that the rest of the page's UI seems to be almost like "Grayed out", not really "frozen". If I hover the mouse over whichever strategy I just clicked, the hand icon appears. If I click again, the regular mouse pointer comes back (though still "grayed/locked up"). I was actually able to still select the "Start Game" button on three of the "freezes" and advance into the game. One of the times, it loaded the modern 3d view but then did actually lock up after clicking a widget. The other two times, as long as I went and clicked Swing Away and not a widget, the game seemed to work fine. As soon as I click a widget, it locks up again. I tried running a brand new game, Standard MLB with just the MLB selected. Same issue.

Hello - Mine is freezing in the main screen when I am trying to start a New Standard Game at the 100% Creating/Checking Affiliate team logo's. Screen shot attached.

I know my anti-virus is not the issue and I do not have hardly anything else running.

Windows 10 Pro
I7
32 Gigs ram
GeForce GTX 660

I whitelisted OOTP, closed all running programs, and did the same for as many background processes as I could. Also tried uninstalling/reinstalling on a different drive, but still having the same issues.

System Specs are:
Windows 10 Home 64 Bit
i7 4720HQ
16gb RAM
GeForce GTX 960M
128gb SSD
1TB HDD

Even a little further information since my last post:

It seems that if I place the game in Fullscreen mode (I had to run Compatibility > Override High DPI Scaling Behavior in Windows 10 to do this, otherwise the menu was completely shifted offscreen), I am able to change roles/strategies just fine. It hangs up every time I switch one for maybe half a second, and then works fine.

If I am in any resolution of windowed mode, it seems to hang up and never free back up. See below for a quick video showing the issue. My cursor turns from regular mouse pointer to hand over n over when clicking. For some reason, the captured video shows my mouse down and to the right of where I was actually clicking, but when the mouse pointer toggle changes, I am clicking on the name dropdown to change the strategy, and then I try to move down and click Hernandez's name which completely locks up the game.

This is also a problem while playing a game (not on the lineups screen pregame). If I click options or a player inside the game with windowed, it freezes. No problem in full screen

BTW- I have my game on a flash drive and it plays perfectly at work. the desktop has a standard video card and there is perfect animation. The game however, is freezing on my laptop at home. During home gameplay, clicking on game option and the trying to edit manager options, it freezes. If I go to a teams homepage, and I try to edit a stadium, it freezes. On my laptop i have an Nvideo card.
Playing with 18, I never had an issue on either computer. I will check laptop later today regarding anti virus, firewall and whitelisting ootp 19 on the laptop.

- Have you updated your graphi card drivers?
- What OS version do you run?
- What screen resolution, and do you have any Windows interface size increase (eg. 150%) enabled?

Same here. 18 runs on both my laptop and desktop. This issue is happening on my laptop as well. My desktop seems to run it just fine, windowed or full screen.

For myself:

- Drivers have been updated. They were one update behind at first, but now am running GeForce Game Ready Driver ver. 391.01.
- Windows 10 Home 64-bit (ver. 1709)
- Screen resolution is 1920x1080. I do have windows size increase on at 125% which is recommended for my laptop. I tried dropping this down to 100% and it did not make a difference on it's own.
- I changed that setting on my .exe and to have it controlled by the "application". It also did not seem to change anything, as the issue still remained.

video card is up to date
windows 10
1920x 1080
screen res is 100%

I'll run with your suggestion later today and report back.

Turned off Nvidia card and CHANGED to the basic integrated video graphics processor and voila... NO ISSUES

This worked for me as well. Changed it in Nvidia Control Panel to only use integrated and windowed mode seemed to work just fine.
