2 way player option bug

I believe the "allow 2 way players" button is not working correctly.

I imported a game from OOTP 18 and the option was auto-selected. A number of players were turned into 2-way players according to the player strategy options for a lot of teams. I didn't want any 2-way players, so I manually went into the strategy for every 2-way player and deselected the option to "use as a two way player". However, when I advanced a day, a number of players where then changed to "on" for "use a two way player" option even though I deselected them and the overall setting was off.

It appears the AI is making some players into 2-way players even if the button is not selected.

I uploaded the league file as 2way_player_issue.zip.zip.

Thanks

Are these players all on teams you yourself are controlling? If they're on teams the ai is controlling or on your minor league teams but you still have the ai delegated to make lineup choices, then that will happen. If not though it might be a bug. But just make sure that you're actually controlling those teams and that the ai isn't set to make any choices for you.

I’m not completely clear on the original post. Is there an option in the player strategy to check or uncheck two-way player? I guess what I’m asking is did the original poster go to game settings and deselect the option there before advancing any more days?

EDIT: ignore me, didn't read properly

EDIT2: seems like I'm having one of those days. I'll put my original post back in case anybody is wondering where the overall setting is:

To turn off two-way players league-wide, you need to go into League Settings -> Stats & AI. Under General AI Roster Settings there is a check-box for 'Allow two-way players.'

If this box is checked and you are trying to 'turn off' two-way players on teams you don't control the AI will just make them two-way players again the next day.

Yes, if you wish to disable the AI using them league-wide, you need to use the league setting for that. Otherwise the AI will continue to adjust strategy for teams they control.

If you set that option for players in your organization, if you have the AI set to manage the minor leagues, they may still adjust the option unless if you use the "lock" on the strategy page. In that case, the AI will not override your settings for that minor league player. Again, this only will come up if you have designated minor league management. If you control the minors as well, then the AI will not override any settings you set.

It's happening for both the team I control and for the other teams.

It seems to me that if you deselect the option in League settings, the AI should not make 2-way players anywhere. Right?

That's why I thought it was a bug. I did deselect (or turned-off) the "allow two-way players" check-box in the league settings, yet the AI was making "new" two-way players for both my team and other teams I don't control after I advanced a day.

Okay, I believe the issue is that currently you would need to set that check-box for all leagues, not just the parent league (MLB). We'll adjust it so that after the next patch the setting will only need to be set at the major league level and will apply to all minor leagues.
