Managing Online League file size
Hello,
I started a new league shortly after OOTP18 was released (standard MLB with the AFL added), we finished our 3rd season and I'm concerned about my league file size. Its taking longer to upload/download and I'm looking for ways to manage it. The players.dat is 409mb in OOTP18 and 442mb after upgrading to OOTP19 I've tested the deletion of retired players and purging the database but I'm not seeing much of a difference. Can this file be managed/groomed from time to time to reduce it's size? |

You must be out of the game for this to work, but then you can upload your league files without this file which will save significant space. My leagues faces file is around 192 MB so bloats my file a ton. You can manually move it back and fourth when not in the league game. It's not ideal but its the best option at the moment. I requested the ability to choose not to upload the file, hopefully someday that can be implemented. |

Thanks Anthony, my faces.dat is quite small and I don't have a problem with deleting it and allowing it to recreate itself. Its specifically the players.dat file that I can't figure out how to reduce safely.
Will catch you in Slack if I find an answer. |
