Hard to believe I've played OOTP from the inception

but... don't know how to do this.

I typically just play traditional current year leagues, with default divisions, etc.

If I want to create a league beginning in 2018 BUT with no sub-leagues, no East, West or Central, BUT with the top two teams in the National and American leagues meeting in a playoff before the World Series, what is the best way to do that? Custom League, Standard League then edit, etc.?

I would think standard league and then edit the league and playoff structure to get what you want would be fastest.

Search the online manual for "league structure editor" and "playoff settings". That should give you enough help to set it up.

This is not nearly as easy or user friendly as it could be. I'm still struggling to figure it out. Is it Game Settings, is it league settings.

First of all, are you in Challenge Mode? If so, you can't do it. Second, is it during the season? If so, you can't do it. In both of these cases, you won't even see the option.

If it is not Challenge Mode and during the offseason or preseason, the option to configure the league will be in the league settings under the league and teams tab. You will have to generate a new schedule after you do it.

It is strongly recommended that you backup your league before you try any of this!

I finally figured it out. Thanks, guys.

My structure is just all the American and all the National. Top two teams in each play to advance to World Series.
