Horrible Draft Pool
I created a new fictional league in OOTP19 and was shocked when I saw the first draft pool ... so I created a test league in v18 and moved it to v19 and ran the league toward the announcement of the draft pool
Here's OOTP18 and OOTP19

Edit: It looks like you have the OVR in the 2018 version and POT in 2017.
What are you using to create your draft pool? Feeder leagues or just created players? How many rounds are they generated for and how many rounds total? Last edited by stealofhome; 04-28-2018 at 11:57 AM. |

Quote:
This was created as a test league, no settings changed ... so no feeder league. 612 players for 36 teams, so there'd be 17 rounds ... And the lucky team with the first overall pick has the chance to draft the 1,5 star reliever ![]() I'll zip the league files of my other fictional leagues and sim them through the draft pool announcement ... and if I get the same result then it'll be back to OOTP18, because this simply is ridiculous

potential ratings in one, actual ratings the other (no wonder it looks much bleaker)

Your 18 is displaying what they could become. Your 19 is displaying what they are right now. Shift your 19 to display potential ratings and you might have a better look.

Yeah, change the view in 19 from Batting Ratings to Default and you should see potential ratings like in 18

Aaah, you got me here - in v18 it automatically jumps to "potential"
Obviously it's much better

once you use that view, the next time you go to that screen it will remember.
there is quite a range in draft qualities year-to-year. even though there's greater inaccuracy, if you keep the same scout/budget for draft, then you'll be comparing apples to apples between years (# of 76-80 pot, # of 61-75 pot etc - how deep it goes in any breakdown you wish) |
