Game Crashing after top of the first in WBC game

This is a bit of a weird one:

I'm managing the Yankees and also the United States in a vanilla MLB Quickstart. I have had a couple of crashes, but nothing too significant or repeatable until today. The WBC just started and after winning my first game, I had a game between the United States and Canada. The game starts normally and everything seems normal, but after the top of the first, the game is crashing every time.

Troubleshooting help: I tried skipping to the second inning. When I do that, it crashes when trying to continue in the bottom of the 2nd, so maybe it has something to do with one of the Canadian players in the field, eh? I also tried to start the China/South Korea game on the same date and that one is crashing right away without even getting into the game. I have not seen this in any regular season game, nor did it happen in the first game of the WBC. I simmed the second game and was able to play the third game with no problems, but am now getting crashes in the fourth game again. Thanks, guys.

No rush, but I just wanted to make sure I submitted this correctly and that it has been seen, as I can't advance in my game and one of the threads above says that if it's improperly submitted you won't be replied to. Did I submit it correctly? Thanks.

I actually had same exact problem yesterday. Fine if I simmed, but I couldn't watch/manage any games.

I see the files so it does look like we got them correctly.

From what you've described, I would guess it will be more useful if Matt takes a look than if I do.

So I'll mention this to him and we'll take a look at it and let you know what we find.

Yeah, apologies, it seems there are some problems with the temporary (ghost) players in tournaments. It seems they're partly getting skipped when we go to create the roster. We can fix this properly for the next patch.

In the meantime, I believe you can sort of solve this by re-finalizing the rosters for anyone who has any of these ghost players. So if you go back to the roster selection screen for the tournament, clear the roster and re-finalize, then it should set them up correctly so that the ghost players will be set correctly. Or if you don't want to clear the whole roster, you can remove all the ghost players and then hit finalize again.

This should give a soft reset to the roster, and I believe you should be able to play out the games properly then.

Thanks, Matt. I ended up just simming through that year's WBC, but I'm glad to see that you have found the issue and it'll be fixed.
