Crashes Or Freezing? Please read this...

I have a strange one. For me it's not a massive deal since it only occurs when trying to use 3D, but it has me baffled. Mainly because 3D worked fine the few times I checked it out, until just recently.

Right now, if I try to use 3D, the game will work for at the max 4 play outcomes. At that point the game freezes. Then the screen goes white and crashes.

This is post the last patch.

I also just recently downloaded Pstrickerts historical ballpark mod from the Steam Workshop.

The game works fine using 2D, so I'm not to worked up, but figured I would mention this to see if others are experiencing the same.

Does this happen only in some the parks from the mod, or does it happen in the default parks as well?

Typically when you're getting freezing in-game in 3d the recommendation would be to lower the audience quality or detail settings as well as to potentially change the OpenGL mode, as mentioned in the first post of this thread. I'd try giving that a shot.

When changing the display setting between full screen and windowed or vice vise it locks up the computer and you cannot get out of the game except with ctl/alt/del. When you restart the game, it is set to the display you tried to set it to. This has been happening for some time now.

I would like to mention that the 3D animation and general 3D game playing just keeps getting better!

Currently using OSX El Capitan, 10.11.6. Game was working fine, and now, 15 games in, it freezes when I go to play the next game. I have to force quit the game. Everything works fine until I try and play an actual game. It even sims games. I have restarted the computer to no avail as well.

The files are on the FTP site.The uploaded data files are from the folder inside my league folder called "incident_2018-06-09 22_36_38" which was created when the games first crashed. Uploaded file is "Curt". When the game crashed, all my data files disappeared except 3 which I have also uploaded as "Curt2".

I know you guys are busy but I wonder if you have had a chance to look at my files?

Unfortunately there's not much we can tell from the data files as to why the crash happened, they're just a pretty good indication that one did since they've definitely been corrupted.

Are you still having any crashing issues when the game is saving now, on the latest patch?

I have restored a backup from 2 months earlier in my season. Unfortunately I have to replay all those games over again and my record isn't as good lol. No crashes whatsoever and I've played about 20 games. That was the only time I have ever had the crashing problem. The crash occurred at the same time of a big Windows 10 update. That update caused several system issues. Took 3 hours to get my sound to work. The Windows update was June 9. In my program and features folder, the install date for a lot of programs switched to June 9, 2018 (including OOTP19) and some of those programs were installed 2 years earlier. Weird. I'm blaming Windows 10. You guys are better than that

Gotcha. I've followed most of the steps posted. Uninstalled, re-installed, white listed, the whole nine. All I ever get is "Unable to save, please manually delete from auto-save folder"...kinda hard when I can't save anything in the first place. Now, everytime I try to create an association and make a playoff, I crash. It won't allow me to upload the trace file.

When I minimize the game and then try to reopen it the screen is white and frozen. When ever I leave the screen it does this.

The workaround for this should be that if you are in windowed mode try switching to fullscreen mode and then this shouldn't happen. I believe for some people that clicking the icon in the toolbar to minimize the game rather than using alt+tab or the minimize button even while in windowed mode also seems to take care of this issue

The association playoffs are a know bug that we'll have fixed next patch.

On the unable to save problem I'd guess the issue is that you have some settings that aren't allowing the game to save to the saves folder. It's probably a permissions issue.

So one thing to do is to run the game in admin mode. That should help.

If it still doesn't fix things, the next thing to try might be to see if Windows Defender's controlled folder access mode is turned on on your system and turn it off if so (as this is often the problem with permissions issues). So I have followed all of the tips and steps suggested here and on steam and my game consistently crashes after my opening day game when I press "Leave Game" after it has finished.

1. PC
2. Windows 10
3. Steam
4. n/a
5. GeForce GTX 1060, 8GB RAM
6. Consistently crashes after I finish my opening game after I press "Leave Game"
7. Every. Single. Save....

I have played this game for years so to say I am disappointed is an understatement. How am I supposed to play when I can't even record one result.

It seems to be working now. And now that I know it's a bug, perfect. Any ETA on the patch? I could waste my time building my world, prepping for that update lol

Still same problem. Not sure where to go from here. It also takes a while to load or close an import file.

Mac OS & game all with latest updates. Mid 2010 iMac.

When I control-click a player to shop him around, the game consistently freezes. In the meantime, I shall follow Groucho Marx's advice (Dr, it hurts when I do this. "Don't do that then.") and not do it. Until then...

For me, this is backwards. Alt+tab works for minimizing, but using the icon brings the white screen of death. On the other hand, if I switch to fullscreen and then try to Alt+tab, it also brings on the white screen.

The only solution I have found is

1) Never minimize, and if I want to toggle between OOTP and another application, do it by bringing the other app to the top, and

2) Save frequently and be prepared to restart OOTP often.

This sounds like something that might typically happen if the save is getting too big for your system and is starting to create some memory issues. Is this a save you've been playing for a while? How far into the future is it and how big is the universe?

We're working on the patch now. Would guess we'll have it out within a week or so, but that's not a definite date, just my best estimate.
