Deleting Season Play and Starting Over

Thought I'd give playing the 2018 season a try with the San Francisco Giants while I wait for historic ballparks to be loaded into the OOTP19 Add-ons.

But my team is 0-6... and I do not know any of the players... and it's not enjoyable.

How do I delete this season and start with another team?

Also, when I go full screen with the game, I cannot see any of my other websites on the internet or even my documents folder. On windowed version, I can see my bottom status bar,but not in full screen mode.

I have to exit the OOTP program, then raise the volume or find a document or search the web, then log back into OOTP and wait 90 seconds for the game to load.

Is there a way to go full screen but still see my bottom status bar (or whatever it's called?)

Please hurry with the old time ballparks for OOTP19. I'm not really a fan of modern baseball.

I usually set up my new league first. Then I select load saved league from the start screen. A list of leagues shows up. There is an option to delete league at the bottom. Just be sure you have the right league selected to be deleted.

Good morning.

You can’t delete the currently loaded season. So start up your new game and then you’ll be able to delete the old one from the load screen.

I am not a computer guy so I don’t know how to do whatever else you’re asking about the screen via a vis Windows. Sorry.

You can play any season with the ballparks that come with the game. The ballpark data (distance to fence, park favoring hitters/pitchers, capacity, etc.) will be correct. If you play out the game, the display will show a generic ballpark which will fit for all teams. The ballpark shown is only cosmetic; the underlying data will still be correct for the ballpark in play.

You can load the historical ballparks later and assign them yourself in an existing league, so no need to wait.

Just curious, why are you waiting for historic stadiums? You can head over to the Mods forum and load them right now.

I have version OOTP19.

I have a friend who tried loading when he bought the game. The PStrickert ballparks.

Each time, his system crashed and the animation would not act right.

I see other players have the same issue and some have suggested waiting for the OOTP19 mods to come out.

I am trying to avoid a problem.

Are there detailed directions on loading the historic ballparks. All I see in Add-on is Download and Install... after that, nothing. I'm sure all the others having problems are doing just that.

What can I do differently?

That worked...

Just start another league, go into Load Game, delete the one you do not want to use.

I mean there are two options available for you to play now without having to wait for in-game mods:

1. Play using the generic ballpark supplied with game as I described in my post above. If you do this, you can still install the cosmetically-correct parks to your existing league LATER when the in-game mod is ready. It won’t change how your league plays out; they just look realistic. The two steps to use Addons Central are download and install (two mouse clicks), so it is pretty simple. I can’t explain why people would have problems with that.

2. You could download the historical parks now from the mods forum and install them manually. The instructions for installing them can be found on the mods forum. I don’t use them myself, so I can’t help you further with this or explain why other people may be having problems. These are mods, so they aren’t supported by the developers either. If you don’t feel that you can handle the installation, then you probably shouldn’t use them.

I would suggest waiting. Personally I tried them (was very excited - still am), and my game crashed at least every other game. I have both the Steam version and the non-Steam version. I uninstalled, and I haven't had a crash in 3 years (I only "play out" 2 games a month - but that's still 36 games + deciding playoff games). I suppose it might be a coincidence, but I'm pretty convinced it's not.

I follow the mod (here and on Steam discussion), and I am 99% sure no changes to fix it have been made.
My reasons for that belief :
1. There was nothing in the OOTP patch notes, discussing any change.
2. Because some people can use the mod with no issue the mod owner believes it to be a symptom of an OOTP problem with the 3D, and not caused by his mod.

That all said, there are people that have no issues with it.

Edit : Your original question .. Just start a new career. Once you do that, the next time you go to load your new game - you will be able to delete the old one. The game doesn't let you delete your last load (Whatever load pushing the "Continue" option points to).

I have the non-Stream version from eSellerate. I think that's the problem with the ballparks, eSellerate.

I just tried to install them twice--download and install--and it crashed my games. I could not even throw a pitch. Kept getting the blue circle then crash.

Now. I'm worried about installing them manually, if I can even find out how to do that.

Why would Stream's version of the ballparks download properly but not eSellerate's?

I keep reading on various threads and posts that the OOTP19 add-ons are coming, but when I bought my game the OOTP19, OOTP19classic and something called OOTP19dark were in the add-on, nothing else. Will that be it as far as 19 mods go for eSellerate?

I just installed and it crashed... now I have to figure how to uninstall but that should not be difficult. I did get the photos in though so I'm sitting on second waiting for someone to drive the historic ballparks home for me.

I have played this game for ten years. I have NEVER installed a historical ballpark. NEVER. You can have a ton of fun playing this game with the ballparks that come with it. Why don't you try it?

It's just a stylistic thing. That's all.

Some people like to play the current season or be the Commissioner or draft players.

I just want to play the old seasons in a realistic environment. It's weird to have Honus Wagner hitting in a generic modern park at night or say in Progressive Field.

Just adds to the realism, for me, as a fan and player.

But I really appreciate you responding.

Not trying to difficult for anyone.

My issue is this: I have a game that crashed and I've since played Historical Seasons since then, so this season sits at the bottom of a list of four seasons. When I highlight the season in question, both the "Delete" and "Rename" buttons are grayed.
Q: Do I now open the "Open folder" button and move each file to "Trash"? If this is the correct method, will this also remove the delinquent line in my list. If this isn't the correct procedure, what would the proper procedure be? Thank you.
