Felix made his major league debut on the final day of the 1901 season, pitching two innings as a relief pitcher for the New York Giants. In 1902, he pitched in nine games, five as a starter, for the Philadelphia Phillies. His final major league game that season, and in his career, was on July 24th. His major league won-loss record was 1-3, and he allowed 64 hits and issued 11 bases on balls in 47 innings. Below is a nice image of him in a Philadelphia uniform.

A team photo posted by Alex Cheremetoff of the Naps in Georgia for Spring Training in 1906. Only 3 players have been identified, the 3 Hall Of Famers in sequence in the back row starting with Flick then Joss then Lajoie commencing 5th from left.

The recently requested for Jim Jackson I would suggest is kneeling fifth from right. A prominent "Indians" supporter may be one who would wish to engage in naming the others?

Got this photo in a lot of camp shots from, I believe, 1988 or thereabouts (the uniform is right). I ask mainly because he looks so darn familiar, but can anyone put a name with the face? Thanks

It looks a lot more like the 1905 squad to me, but to possibly offer some suggestions to the ones RUKen didn't know:


Top Row, far left looks like Fritz Buelow, third from left looks like Hi West, and last on the right looks like Charlie Carr


Bottom Row, second from right is a dead ringer for Howard Wakefield.

I had previously thought that it was the 1905 team, but if my identification of Happy Townsend is correct, then it must be 1906, because he was traded to Cleveland in December, 1905. (Carr was traded away from Cleveland in November, 1905, so if Townsend is correct, then Carr cannot be in the picture. Wakefield was lent to the Senators in February, 1906, so he is also unlikely to be in a photo with Townsend, depending on when spring training started.) Below I've inserted an image of Townsend from 1903 next to the image of the player in the Cleveland photo, apparently wearing the same sweater:

The post on the Cheremetoff twitter account specifically stated that the photo was from March.

To get us one closer to identifying all the players I would submit that the player kneeling third left is Bill Shipke. That by my reckoning leaves us 3 short, top right, top second from left and top fourth from right.

The player you suggested to be Carr , top extreme right, stands out as his head appears to be approaching twice the size as everyone else. This could substantiate the Carr identification on the basis it is his head replacing the original owner of the rest of the body. Though I admit that this practice is usually adopted for those who enter a team after an image has been taken.

Thanks to RUKen for posting a clearer version of the image although the player fourth from right is unlikely to be identifiable.

The only identification I would like to revisit is that of Buelow and suggest that he is third from right in the top row not extreme left, and that Nig Clarke is top extreme left. Image of Buelow attached along with Scotty Ingerton depicted in the helpful image you posted. A significant omission is Earl Moore maybe he is the unidentifiable player. Could the player top second from left be another player from your image Cadwallader?

Besides the fact that he had been traded in November, I don't think that the player on the far right looks that much like Carr. The noses and chins are different.

The photo on the left comes from the George Grantham Bain collection on the Library of Congress website. The image on the right comes from the Wilmington (DE) Evening Journal of January 18, 1919.

As an alternative player identification to Carr as the player top extreme right I would submit Joe Birmingham, image attached.

The Carr issue I raised was addressed, however, the Shipke, Buelow, Clarke issue was left in the air. Any further constructive views?
