P420-2037
Congrats to Fog City on beating the biggest whale team in the AC.
The Sharks made a great run and almost went all the way. Bulldawgs did a great job and played really well. It was a pleasure competing with some pretty evenly talented teams. Now the whale sitting atop our leagues leader board in almost every defensive and offensive category has been beaten in the P420 Perfect Leauge. Now this is not being a bad loser on my part, I had a good season, was not eliminated till after game number 161. It was my third season in PL, record has improved each season. But it is frustrating if you have a whale sitting atop your division. To play a team that ends up thirty games ahead in it's conference. The whale gets 76 games against it's division foes. I get to play him 19 times. I understand the way the unbalanced schedule works, the same as MLB. I personally would hate being in a division where no one could beat my team. Welcome to the perfect level buddy. This wasn't even a tough perfect league, if you get into a league with the top whales, that whale team you are complaining about would finish fighting hard for a 2nd wild card spot. The gap between diamond and perfect is very wide.

So the only way to get somewhat close to the whales is to spend the bucks needed to
assemble a team by buying perfect cards in the AH? Then by the time you're somewhat competitive the servers will shut down and you've assembled a great team that you can never use again? thanks, m |

No, you can definitely get to perfect level and win without spending a dime. But if you want to have the top team in a league full of whales, yes, you have to spend money.

I enjoy being in a conference and division where good teams that might not have a lot of perfect 100 players have a chance to advance to the playoffs.
Last year was my 3rd in PL, I finished 3rd in my division and wasn't eliminated till after game 161. I was thrilled to have improved over the previous 2 seasons. I felt bad for the guys that were in divisions where a team with mostly perfect cards was ahead of them by 30 games at mid year. Perhaps a rating system using the original face value of the cards could be utilized. Add up the ratings of your 25 man playing roster, divide by 25, that'st your active roster's average. There would still be competitive leauges for really perfect teams. Anyone in lower rated teams would be matched against similarly rated leauges. My team's 25 man roster rating is 2326, 25 man average 93.04. m |

Oh...my...god...that's insane. If I saved up my PP for an entire RL YEAR I MIGHT be able to have 5 or six 90+ cards... I have 2 on my team I've been building for a better part of three months and one was a ridiculously lucky Mike Trout pull. Your roster must have a AH value in the MILLIONS of PP Last edited by Findest2001; 04-18-2019 at 11:32 PM. Reason: e |

Well there is no way to set a money value to a team.
That's really depends on what players are available and what ever the cards are selling for. Diamond cards that routinely sold for 5k PP now sell for twice that amount. The team I have has only 4 perfect 100 players. I've been building my team for 20 seasons. I try to limit my AH and pack purchases to about $25 us each week. m ![]() |

Perhaps you're unclear about how this works. You either sink or you swim. We don't give everyone floaties so that you feel better about yourself. In this case, your team wasn't good enough. Good news is, the next Monday, another league forms and you get another shot. If you aren't good enough, maybe you get sent down a level to where your team belongs.
If you want to make the playoffs at Perfect level, a lot of perfect cards aren't required, but a few sure make life easier. You were complaining about my team the Doctrine in the original post and we have a team that has a whopping 1 perfect pitcher (Randy Johnson) and 2 perfect hitters (Betts and Mays) that I can remember off the top of my head (I'm at work, I may have forgotten 1 but I don't think so). They aren't even expensive perfects. Yet somehow we won by 30 games. Perfect cards aren't the be-all end-all. |

I never actually named your team in the post.
I understand perfectly how this game works. I've been in PT since the beta. I certainly haven't asked you for advice, so no thanks. Besides, the rest of us were discussing how to possibly rate teams in private leauge play, when it becomes available. m |
