Cole VS. Cole - current Phillie, Cole Irvin against ex-Phillie, Cole Hamels reminded me that over 60 years ago the Phillies had another Cole (if only briefly) David 'Dave Cole' in 1955. Does anyone have any photos to post of Dave Cole, pictured as a Phillie?

Thanks for the great photo of Jimmy Wasdell, UK. Those uniforms were so baggy back them. You can almost feel how heavy they were from Wasdell's photo on the left. They were supposed to be Itchy too, because the uniforms back then were made from a very coarse fabric.
Wasdell was an above average player. A number of sources say that he would have been picked for the 1945 All-Star game, if that game had been played. He hit an even .300 that year in an even 500 at bats.
Wasdell hit .273 in a solid 11 year MLB career (1937-1947).

Another Facepack option for Lynch who appeared in 5 games for the 1920 St. Louis Browns. He somehow managed to walk 17 batters in only 22.1 innings! He is pictured as a member of the 1919 Wichita team along with the previous Facepack image.
