I meant that it is a Joe Cronin who is fully trained at 2B and partially trained at 3B. So he is trained to a 126 DEF at 2B, is still 113 at SS, but is only 24 DEF at 3B (hasn't played at 3B much).

13:12 is such a min-max ratio. Are there not enough great players in the 80s to form an affordable-to-your-budget team at maybe 20:5? Of course, I am asking out of curiosity. I have a feeling that I might have to do what you did with Armada eventually.

should have kept Keefe and stuck with the 80s theme.... he's just 1880s (course, there aren't exactly a ton of 1880s players to choose from)

I feel your pain. I was thinking in the next couple of weeks to open my 70's theme, not as radical though. Right now with the exception of a Bob Boone 1983 card I got in a starter pack every card is a 1970's card. I was thinking of opening up to any player who played in the 70's regardless of the year represented on the card. It's not as much lack of patience there just aren't that many players available and its the same ones over and over again.

Not ready to throw in the towel just yet.

Diamond league update:

Washington and Cincinnati remain at the top of the standings by taking full advantage of their limited schedule; with Cooper Roncalli and Green Lake pushing hard to make up ground.

In the overall picture.... Cincinnati sits atop the AC East division with a slim 1 game lead. Washington is tearing up the competition in the AC West at 40-16, and already has a double-digit lead of 10 games over OL rival Seattle.

In the NC East, Transylvania hovers around the 500 mark, but is only a half game off the division lead. In the NC Central, Roncalli has hit a rough skid and sits in last place in the division, but only 8.5 games back with plenty of games remaining. In the NC West, Cooper sits atop the division with the best record in the conference, but Waffletown and Green Lake are keeping pace only 0.5 and 1.5 games back respectively. Luckenbach is struggling to find their groove and hopes to heat up with the weather as the summer months approach.

I had the same issue with a theme being overly restrictive. I overhauled my Texas Rangers team to the Washingtoon Senators - only allowing Senators cards, but since there aren't a lot from which to choose I decided that I would allow any player to be on the roster if they ever put on a Washington Senators uniform - no matter what team is on their PT card. Since the Senators moved to Minneapolis in 1961 and to Texas in 1972, that means I could add a few Twins and Rangers. This also includes any player who was traded to and played for the Senators, even if it was just a couple of games - so I scoured the baseball-reference site year by year for the Senators to see if there were players whose names I recognized who had cards. And I found guys like Jim Piersall, Johnny Pesky, Curt Flood, John Roseboro... turns out there's a decent assortment of guys. I've just started it and it's working out ok (my bullpen is a dumpster fire inside a gasoline refinery though).

I haven't completed the two missions yet, though I'm close (I refuse to pay an arm and a leg for a couple of silver cards). My main issue is catchers, I think I only have 4 from which to choose.

Well, did a little wheeling and dealing with my saved up PP this week. Can't hold it forever. Sold off 1991 All Star Glavine.

Gutter Cats then added Paul Waner (91), 2013 Historic All Star Clayton Kershaw (94) and Elston Howard (91) as an every day catcher. Down to 400pp now so will have to roll with this and challenge packs until it builds back up.

I'm sure there are, but not at the prices currently listed. Even though I'm going to have a big load of points soon, that doesn't mean I'm going to overpay for everyone

As you get more seasons in it is def more restricting since you are looking for specific upgrades. I am going to open it up but put some parameters in place. If I open it up to a card for any year a player played as long as he played in the 70's I would exclude someone like Ernie Banks who retired after 1971 but was a part time player and a shadow of his former self in his 70 & 71 season. I want them to at least be a full time player for a couple of years in the 70's because I want to open the door a bit not blow it off the hinges.

This is a first since I started. The Knights first game today Ozark beat me 9-7 in 15 innings the teams combined for 46 hits and 12 BB. My manager used 9 of my 11 pitchers. I dont have a pitcher above 43% and no day off for 5 days, this is going to be a long day

Yeh your generic logo is what's displaying for me now as well. Could've sworn it was showing the other one just yesterday.

P404 personal update:

The Cottons and the Gauchos have had a strong start to the year, leading each of their divisions with the Cottons holding the strongest run differential of anyone in the league. The Cottons have played like .500 baseball the past two years, WAY underperforming their run differential and even their wOBA and FIP projections both years, so it's satisfying to see them play to the level the measurables say they're at.

The Quantum Condors are... not doing so well this week in Perfect. They're 4th off the bottom, just barely poised for relegation to Diamond, breaking a possible 12 consecutive seasons in Perfect. I think I know the cause though: I've spent something like 60k, points I would usually spend on upgrades, solely on the collection for Perfect Johan Santana (Go Twins!). I also spent like 15k-20k or so on the Cursebreakers collection, though I think I broke even there since my diamond pack pull was trash. On the bright side, I'm one Joe Cronin + 6 silver players away from finishing the collection, so the end is absolutely in sight. And with it comes a diamond pack, Perfect Johan (selling for ~100k), and a 91 Goose Goslin retailing for 15k though I think I will just use him. I am hoping that can revitalize my team and help it power back up to Perfect and stay competitive there.

Has anyone else found profitable collection sets that are accessible to us FTP players?

I took a quick look at collections, but realized that collecting cards was more work than I wanted to do. Now making cards...

I think all the potentially profitable sets are not profitable now. Typical market trending will mean those sets will rise in price in time until they hit their neutral spot; and we are already few weeks in.
