I set my line-up and start game, but the AI decides to start different line-up

Seriously why is this still happening. I played OOTP18 and 19 and had this problem in both games. I research the forums and apparently this problem has been around forever, and yet every solution does not solve the problem except the extremely dumb option of setting the line-up in 7-day line-ups every single game for the entire season.

So has anyone actually figured out the problem yet? Or are the only """""solutions"""""" telling me to click the 'AI doesnt make roster changes' box in commissioner mode (another bad solution that does not fix the problem) or 'do not disturb box should be unchecked' (it is) and I'm just stuck either letting the AI decide my lineups or setting my line-ups in the 7-day line-ups menu for every game for an entire season?

Well, I play out all of my games and the only time I ever, ever see this happening is if I continue to play a dead tired player, then the AI will remove him from the lineup at the lineup screen, but I can still put him back if I want.
So, that being said, a couple things to check -

1 - I am the Manager of my team. I don't even GM. So I have FULL control over my lineups. I don't know how you play, but make sure you don't have a Manager that will override your lineups.

2 - I do not use Depth Charts, at all (which I think might be your problem - those are different than the 7-day lineups). I have one set of lineups vs R and one vs L, with no subs, at any position, ever. Because I play out every single game, having depths charts set up will mess up with my lineups, and I want to be in full control of who plays when. That would be my educated guess with the info that you provided. You may have someone set to "play every 4th game at 1B" for example, which means every 4th game, your lineup would be messed up by having the sub come in.

If that's not it, then let us know a bit more about how you're setup.

How & where are you setting the lineup, and at one point does OOTP change the lineup?

If you've set depth charts, the game is going to follow those depth charts, which means resting players when it considers them tired or every X games. If you were to set the depth charts to "Never" instead of the default "If Starter Tired", I'm pretty positive that would lock in lineups - IME the game only messes with them when the game actually subs someone out. You would also, of course, need to sub out players manually on your own or else your team will start to fall apart come August.
