Diamond

I will take Diamond, as was the case last week Wednesday will be a 50/50 day as to whether I will be able to post. We broke away from the BFF teams this week but I notice Coney Island is in the NC East with and an old friend of OL play, Joe Hart.

Three teams in the AC East, two teams in the AC West, two teams in the NC East and Highland drifting alone in the NC Central.

Coney Island picked up a Pee Wee Reese, which was a duplicate and got him sold along with a Jud Wilson Negro league gold. I have decided to bank the earnings and stand pat going into this week. My pitching was passable last week if I had hit a little more. Almost bought the perfect Sandberg to play him at 3rd but I don't think he would be worth half my budget.

I will again handle silver with two teams seeming to take roots there. Could do gold, but would appreciate a volunteer.

Good luck and have a great 2033!
Gold missed the Hamtramck Tigers (showing as Gold 320, instead of Gold 312 like the others). If you're in the Gold level, check your friends lists and make sure you have everyone.

not a bad idea for everyone to take a look at their list and compare it at some point during the season... make sure you have everyone in your tier and the tiers ahead/behind you as well to cover for pro/rel movement.

I fear I may have been one of the culprits. I recall now that when I went on late last night to check, the AI had messed up my roster, and I think I got distracted by fixing it. Sorry.

Iron 221

I'll take Iron 221. 5 teams this week. All but Ft.Huachuca are in the NC. My roster will be going thru an overhaul as I sell off my SE players and temporarily replace with Golds/Silvers. Once I complete my LIVE missions and sell off SE players THEN I will go on a shopping spree.

Shinbone:40
Weston Pointe: 39
Coney Island: 38

That's awesome. Palolo getting their money's worth.

Diamond

Cary jumps out to the early lead winning six of seven. Apologies to Highland in my count-they will play enough games to qualify I missed their schedule vs. my team....

OL S283 - Early Look

Left Coast is the early leader in a light schedule for OL to begin the sim. Expect the action to heat up quickly, as my scan through the schedule showed a decent amount of games.

In PT, there are no division leaders from OL, but Left Coast, Port Ruppert, and Waffletown own wild card spots, with Terra Incognita, Hooterville and Jefferson Valley in close contention. Norwood is 4-1/2 behind and K-Town is in a relegation spot, 6-1/2 back.

Iron 221

Vlora takes the early lead. Looks like my rebuild may dip me down into Stone

Brigadoon is wrestling with their future direction. I initially had a brilliant plan to target some specific players (basically just save and buy them) but then I got the smart(?) idea to consider a collection I’d previously thought of as out of reach. While this collection is like many historical ones in that you spend more to complete it than the reward sells for, the difference is that I could actually USE some of the collection cards on the team. The difficulty is that it’s going to take a bucket of PP to complete, so it’s definitely a longer term project. Oh well, I guess it gives me a longer term goal to shoot for.

Annandale, on the other hand, never has any cash so it doesn’t do much! I did develop a better idea for my pitching staff though, so they have a goal too. They will just be much slower getting there.

those long term saving projects are tough when you want those players now I know the feeling.... sitting here with about 8k points in the war chest which is nowhere near enough to afford any of the players on my watchlist.... so barring a monumental pack pull, what you see is what you get from Waffletown

new distraction project for me this season: track all the starting pitchers I face this season to see if I really do face Greg Maddox/Randy Johnson/Steve Carlton that much more than anyone else (and track how I do against them, whether it's a win, loss or no decision)

Bronze is a bit small this week with just 4 teams. The following schedules are listed without results. That will come further down the post.

Asheboro Road Dogs: 3 @ Otonokizaka, 3 @ Transylvania, 3 vs Transylvania (9 total)
Otonokizaka Muse: 4 vs Ring Road, 3 vs Asheboro, 3 @ Ring Road (10 total)
Ring Road Rams: 4 @ Otonokizaka, 3 vs Otonokizaka (7 total)
Transylvania Impalers: 3 @ Asheboro, 3 vs Asheboro (6 total)

Only Otonokizaka plays the required 10 games needed for crown qualification.

CURRENT STANDINGS
Otonokizaka Muse: 2-2 (.500)
Ring Road Rams: 2-2 (.500)
Asheboro Road Dogs: 0-0 (.000)
Transylvania Impalers: 0-0 (.000)

OL News Nite Owl Edition: Port Ruppert On Top

OL S283 saw all teams get into action, with the defending crown winning Syrups getting off to a bit of a sticky start in their defense. The Mundys grabbed the early lead.

IN PT play, Waffletown and Port Ruppert own the NC wild card spots, with Jefferson Valley 2 back. In the AC, Left Coast has the top spot, and Terra Incognita is 1/2 back of the second. Hooterville is 6 behind. Both Norwood and K-Town are in relegation spots.

I happened to wake up, and wanted some tea, so you get an even-earlier-than-Edster edition of the standings.

Diamond

Cary was 8-5 yesterday and continues to lead the OL pack. Highland will jump into action today.

In PT play Weston Pointe and Cary hold down the two WC spots in the AC with Kansas 1.5 back. Weston Pointe trails in AC West by 2 games. The NC doesn't have much to report. Highland is one game above .500 and 4 out of the WC.

Gold Update

With a strong May, Hidden Valley jumped to the top of the Gold OL standings. There are still plenty of OL games left to play but Hidden Valley and Bluffton are threatening to make it a two-horse race.

I just wanted to pass a thanks for the people that, day in and day out, calculate the win-loss ratings for all the teams in the various OL leagues. I have just done that a couple of times in the past but I know how much work it is. Thanks so much!

It's fun.

I got in trouble for the first time in third grade for doing baseball stats in class. With me it's just a question of time to do it. It isn't work at all.
