In-game sound issues

1) I mentioned this over in General Discussion because I didn't know that it was a bug, but the other responses over there convince me that it is. During games, I can here the background crowd, ambient noises (airplane), organ and chants, crack of the bat, and "Strike 3" and "Out" calls, but I hear NO crowd reactions: no clapping, cheering, booing, ooohs, or ahhhs.

2) Also, now, the 51leaguegoing league won't load anymore. It tells me the file is corrupted.

Can you help with either of these?

I tried about a thousand times to also attach a working USBL league from this game, too, but every time it says the zip is too large, even when all I include is the "world.dat" file, so I don't know how to attach that, I guess.

EDIT: I got the USBL.lg file into the ftp folder this morning. I'll add the 51leagegoing zip there, too.

For the corrupt league, you'll want to try to restore from the autosave the game makes. Instructions on that are below.

For the sounds issues, I don't know that we have enough info to say whether those are a bug or simply an issue with individual user's systems, given that the sounds do seem to work correctly for the majority of users.

For now, for anyone having the sound issues, it would probably help if you let us know some basic info about your system, Windows/Mac/Linux, OS version, video and/sound card brand, and whether the sound has ever worked before and has just stopped working, or has never worked correctly.

To restore from the automatic backup, do the following:

1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings (or Preferences in OOTP 11-14).

2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting".

3) Click "Open folder containing saved games".

4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore.

5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them

6) Open the folder called "auto-save".

7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder.

Now start the game and load your league.

As described above, cheers, boo, all crowd "reactions" have never worked for me in 21. All other sounds (background crowd, crack of the bat, "out" calls, airplane flying overhead) those all work, and have since the beginning. In previous versions (I still have 18, 19, and 20 on this computer) all sounds, including reactions, work just fine. It's only 21 that has this problem (and it is AWFUL).

I've just purchased the game after playing OOTP19 for a few years. I purchase a new game every 2 years or so. I've played other versions on this same computer. However, since I've started this game, I've never had any sound in the game. I've tried disengaging sound and re-engaging, but still nothing. I use a Mac Catalina OS10.15.3.

I've put a ton of time already into creating a fictional/historical league and would rather not uninstall and lose everything.

Can anyone help me?
