Angry Seriously!!!???

I have long started to question the programming of this game and the recent couple games have proven it even more to me. I have lost the last 6 games in my solo games on 9th inning heroics by opposing teams. every game I have gone into the 9th inning up by anywhere from 3 to 6 runs. Suddenly in the 9th inning (yes several different pitchers) the AI teams manage to come back and win.

Let's add to that the 4/5 times my team has an opposing team at a 3-2 count and walk them, while my team strokes out. We will just dog pile that with a ridiculous amount of blown double plays "by hard slides".

Truthfully I would not recommend this game to anyone. I fell like I have been robbed of my money in purchasing this game. This should be available for about $2.99 on an app store.

Without a doubt having my best most challenging season ever, 60 games to go in my play 'em all out game, my team is holding down the Wild Card slot by two games.
I did go thru a "every day we find a new way to lose " streak of 6 games but now riding a five game winning streak.

I just won the WS for the first time since v16 (skipped v 20). Too easy I say.

It is unfortunate that this happens to you (or that you perceive that it happens, or that you perceive that what happens isn't simply baseball) and that you do not enjoy the game.

Look around you here on the forum. What you see are largely people who enjoy OOTP a great deal, people who, to greater or lesser extents, happily give their money (and in my mind the game is a steal at its current price) to the good folks who produce this excellent game. Heck, don't just look around this forum. Look elsewhere too, to all of the excellent reviews OOTP has received over the years, including the fact that the game has twice been named Metacritic's PC Game of the Year. Look at the major baseball organizations/publications that are using the game this year as a way to fill some of the void created by the current pandemic. Baseball Reference, Baseball America, MLB.com, etc.

This is not the first time you have described the game in this way and if you feel robbed, well, I'm sorry for you. But the application of just a bit of logic and intelligence should lead you to conclude that it might not be the game that is at fault here, but you. Somehow I don't think OOTP is in any danger of sinking into oblivion because you don't recommend it or because you simply don't get it.

Wait until you see real baseball

Back to back to back to back ninth inning home runs. Two off a Hall of Fame closer

Dodgers walk-off 5 games in a row
https://youtu.be/qJiAP3XFbrM

One with 4 consecutive walks
https://youtu.be/ynEnbXgjuxg

I've also won two consecutive World Series and am kind of hoping I lose this year. Though I'm 3 games up on Sept 1st

I can feel Thomidor's pain. Playing a game and not winning can be very frustrating.

I am currently playing my 200th year (I play as GM). Having been very successful in the past, (63 championship seasons) this year has been VERY challenging. And the worst part is, I have no clue how to turn it around. I had a great team two years ago and last year, all the core players got old and fast. I am stuck with early 30's players with fat contracts and no skill.

So I can feel his pain but I look at it this way. What a great game. Looking forward to turn this franchise around and start winning again.

First, I love the game. I recommend it to all of my baseball fan friends.

Second, maybe boost your bullpen a bit? I don't know. Teams go through streaks, both good and bad. Stuff happens. I've watched the Reds pull that kind of stuff in real life I don't know how many times over the years.

Why is everyone feeding the troll? Every time I see a thread like this, I check the post history of the OP. In this case, two posts, both negative. Let’s lock this up and move on.

That is some kind of impressive longevity and track record. Have you spent your entire 200-year career with the same organization or have you changed teams during that time? If you've spent your entire career with the same org, how many owners have you seen come and go?

And how old were you when you were first hired? You don't have to tell me your current age if you're sensitive about that sort of thing.
I can do the math.

I love these threads

My team, on a 100 win pace, just lost to a .500 team 9-3

In the second game, with the likely CY winner pitching for me:
In the first, 2 outs, then a home run
In the second 2 outs, then a home run
In the third, 2 outs, then a home run
I'm trailing 3-0

I hate, and enjoy immensely, this game

EDIT
I lost 0-5
I got 1 hit in the game

Yep, after reading the OP the first things I thought of were the above two... Only I had forgotten the 5-game walk-off streak and was instead thinking of the three-straight walk-off HR's - all by rookies - that were a part of the 5-game streak... I mean, what are the odds of rookies hitting walk-off dingers three games in a row? Probably somewhere along the lines of losing six straight games in the ninth inning?

Let me tell you about the time the Raccoons' Juan Diaz threw three wild pitches in one at-bat...

I have been with three organizations. 128 years with the San Jose Athletics, I left after building a team which was too dominate. We won 7 straight Finley Cups, lost the eighth and I lost interest. We had a young dominate team with the best farm team. After I left that team continued and won 6 out of the next seven championships. I took up an expansion team (Philadelphia Rowdies) and stayed with them for 32 years. Very successful but left when new owner became too hands on. He got me mad so I quit them and went to the worst team in the league, Charlotte Generals. 39 years into this team and not nearly as successful. I did get back to back Finley Cups but that is all. Lost in the Finley Cup three times and have 9 straight seasons end where I have placed in the top 5 but just can not get over the top. BTW, my league has 40 teams, 2 conferences, only the conference winner goes for the Cup.

Too many to count. Most have been seamless (I turned off owner goals as I like to play as Owner/GM).

I can do the math.
In game, I am 259. Hope I get to that age in real life. I can not remember how many real life years I have been playing this league but it has been a lot.

I truly appreciate all the comments that everyone has thrown out showing their successes. It does give me some hope, but it is extremely frustrating to watch the way the game unfolds and it seems like miracle after miracle happens for the teams I face every game. I completely understand it ha[pens in baseball, but I have never seen it happen time and time again. Yes, win streaks and losing streaks happen, but to lose 6 games a row when heading into the 9th with an excellent closer or setup man is extremely frustrating. I am glad to know that several people have won a World Series, because it does give a glimmer of hope. Thanks for all the positive feedback and it makes my mind at better ease to see that there is success to be found.

That's all good and fine; however, when you just drop an attack and then don't stick around for the heat that follows, it doesn't look good.

Also--you know we can see that you edited your original post in the Steam review thread, right? We're not fools in this community.
