Player can play 2 positions at once ie SP/RF

Hi, I'm playing in Challenger mode. I had Babe Ruth and tried to make it so he could play as an SP and also RF in the same game. I couldn't figure out how to do it. I lost Ruth to free agency to the Yankees (all teams, except mine, are on AI setting). The Yankees were able to make this happen because of AI. How can I, in Challenger Mode, accomplish setting up one player to play 2 positions in the same game (ie: SP/RF)? Thanks!
