				Game disappeared from Steam library

I had something I've never seen happen before. I was playing the game via steam via my surface last night. I played for a good two to three hours. About half an hour or so ago I tried to load the game on Steam. It basically said it was in my library, but wouldn't start. I emailed Steam customer service through the support link, and it said I needed to contact support here. This really stinks. I love this game and wanted to sim two years to get to Seattle. |

This appears to be a widespread Steam issue (not us).

I have this issue as well, all my other games work fine. Was told to clear the steam download cache in settings, tried this and it worked. Last edited by highheat42; 08-05-2020 at 12:04 AM. |

It seems to be affecting games that are currently discounted; the Steam help forums, Reddit page, and twitter have many reports. Might be related to the server maintenance they did this afternoon, but no official acknowledgement of the problem from them yet. As we wait for them to fix it, a couple of things to try that people have reported working for them: -exiting and restart the Steam client seems to have fixed the libraries of a few people -in the client, go to the Steam menu, then Settings, then Downloads, and click on "Clear Download Cache", then hit OK I don't know if these will necessarily work, but neither one can hurt your game data, so they're worth a try. |

This happened to me with several Steam games in the past. For some reason, it left files running after closing, and it thinks the game is still running. If they fixed it, great! If not, just go into Task Manager, find the files that are still running, and stop them. Then the game should be able to start fine.
