Maybe this tumbling disaster of a team will make the right moves now. That includes dumping Rosario for a bag of baseballs as the deadline approaches. SOME team's gotta have a starting shortstop with two broken arms by then, right?

Amed Rosario last year was the worst NL starting shortstop by most defensive values that baseball-ref makes readily available to non-paying customers. Few were close; Trea Turner, Kevin Newman, Tatis jr.; some of them can at least hit. Rosario can't do anything.

Rosario drives me insane. Every time a ball is hit about ten feet ot the left of second base, and the camera follows it. The second baseman appears in the picture. And then Rosario casually jogs into shot, too. Never dives for a ball. Just let's them roll.

But, knowing the Mets, Brodie Van Braindeadson will package Gimenez with whatever juicy pitching prospect (Peterson!) he can remember and trade them to, some forgotten AL Central place for yet another DH with $90m left on his contract.

M. Donald Grant made better trades than this idiot.

It truly is Amazin', the Jamboree is only two months long but the Metsies are right on pace for the dog days/doldrums of August in a regular Metsy season, four games behind a team that's played 8 fewer games than they have.

OTOH, at least they're in the top 80% of NL teams in negative virus testing, which IMO is the only real achievement at stake this year anyway.

I'm just going to count these as wins too, maybe if there are enough tropical storms they'll never get the games in! If they end up with more guys testing positive, I'd rather they not rake them over the coals with a Cards-style schedule of 4,000 doubleheaders* in a month.

*it's not technically a doubleheader if they only play 14 innings, right? Maybe they should call those "Jamboree Special Game-and-a-Halfs" :P

Every so often another story comes out claiming Steve Cohen or JLo is the likely winner. It all seems to be so much hot air, but Fred and Jeff are seriously overleveraged with multiple balloon payments coming due next year or so. Even before the pandemic they needed to take the money and run, and they probably cost themselves a fair bit with their aborted first deal with Cohen.

I read someplace "Yankees and Mets will likely play one if not two doubleheaders next weekend to make up for their cancelled three-game series at Citi Field, per Aaron Boone. Yankees and Mets are scheduled to play a three-game series next weekend at Yankee Stadium."

We're going to get tired of looking at each other.

Haven't heard anything, but over here I'm usually the last to hear. MLB.com lists the games with the Fish on the schedule, but has no probable starters listed.

Five with the Yankees sounds horrible. Didn't end well last time 'round.
