Fictional/Historical Question I Haven't Found Answer to (If There is One)
Given how old this forum is, I'm sure a question of this variety has been answered but my searches haven't quite shown it to me (and I've also tried to make it happen through trial-and-error and haven't figured it out yet). And it
may not even be possible to do what I want to do but anyway...you tell me

...
So I'm a big Blue Jays fan. I recently simmed a tournament pitting 16 of the historical Jays teams against each other and enjoyed it. But of course, when you do things like that, you get historical players taking each other on (1986 Dave Stieb vs. 1984 Dave Stieb! Followed by Jimmy Key vs. Jimmy Key....).
What I'd love to do is create eight "dream teams" of Jays from different eras (e.g., an early 80s team, a late 80s team, etc.) to play against each other
with no repeat players. So basically, the teams would draft players from their standout singular seasons but there would only be one of everyone (for e.g., if one team gets 1984 Dave Stieb, all the other Dave Stiebs disappear).
I haven't figured out a way to do this. Would it be something that required creating an .xls file with a database of all of those players to achieve?
