Derrr. Noob alert.

I'm putting myself out there to ask what may be among the dumbest questions ever posed on this forum. And they don't even have anything to do with the game!

I see some posts on here that seem to have more than the maximum 5 attachments - how is this being done?

And how do you add more text after an attached image?

Yep, I went there...

Any help appreciated.

I'll try to help you, but it's like the blind leading the blind.

Someone helped me post attachments that would be vertically placed rather than horizontally placed in the post... all I could do was post items horizontally.

All I can do is 5 attachments.

Will let you know.

Hopefully, someone who knows the answer will help you.

Check out reds1 dynasty league... United Leagues of Braeland... it looks like he posts up to 12 attachments with separate texts in the same post.

Is this what you want to do?

Dumb questions get dumb answers! I put in a bunch of returns before I start posting images, then scroll back up and put them in. If I never need the extra lines, I delete them when I'm done I do this on blog posts, emails, all over, just because it's easier than figuring out how whatever platform expects me to do it!

On this board, if you're on a computer anyway there's a little white box up in the corner of the grey box around where you type your message, with a couple of "A" letters in it. That lets you toggle between the regular commenting interface and code. So if you click that you'll see a bunch of text strings starting with at the end, you can put a return there and start typing again.

Of course! I didn't think about altering the HTML code. Also I think a lot of people with the seemingly infinite amount of attachments are using Imgur or similar, which enters the post as a URL rather than an image, and there's no limit on links.

Attachments are one way of inserting images into your post. The way I post images is not with attachments, but rather, using the Insert Image code. Attachments are when you send a file from your computer to the OOTP Forum post/thread you're writing.

Using the Insert Image function is posting a web address/URL that contains the image you'd like the put in your message. This way, the forum server doesn't have to keep all of those attachment files handy so they can be visible everytime someone reads a post with your image in it.

To use the Insert Image function you just need to click the 5th icon from the right, in the row of command icons just above this text entry box. Its yellowish in color. When you click that a new small box will pop up. It will say, "Please enter the URL of your image". So, that's exactly what you want to do. It also means that you have to upload your images to a file hosting service first. I recommend imgur.com.

I am going to post a photo of Barry Bond's Profile page in my current Universe. I'm going to click that yellowish icon and when the box pops up I am going to paste in the website URL from imgur.com that is linked to my screenshot. That URL is https://i.imgur.com/sOf4WvE.jpg

In the forum text box I am using to write this post, I won't see an image, I see this: - however, when I click Preview Post I will see this post the way it will look for everyone else.

I hope that's a little helpful. Someone please correct me if I said anything wrong or didn't include enough detail.

This forum software is getting on in age. It would be nice if they at some point upgraded it.
We have been asking for this for years but never get it

It would be nice to have things like strike throughs, more emojis, spoiler tags and embedded videos.

One can dream
