Groundball to RF. Ball disappears, then moves back in spacetime to earlier in its flight. Ty Cobb in RF also vanishes and appears in sort-of hyperspace-y way. Play results in an error on Cobb--it seems like errors are often very herky-jerky their animation, but this is the first time I've seen the hyperjump behavior.

Hilltop Park. This is the most radical of the foul ball as hit issue reported a few times. Charlie Reilly swings, the ball goes almost straight horizontally to the right side. Ends up being a stand up double after a long ball retrieval routine.

Another of these base hits over the 1B dugout. This one at Guaranteed Rate Field. RF disappears into RF foul bleachers and eventually recovers and throws in ball after hitter legs out a foul ball triple.

If you look at the 3D view on the edit ballpark page and turn the grid on, you can see that the RF wall needs to be pulled in a wee bit. adjust it and it fix the part about the ball & player going through the wall.

Ground ball between SS and 3B. Rolls all the way to the LF wall. SS sprints out to just short of the warning track, grabs the ball and fires to first, just in time to throw the runner--mired in mud, evidently--out at 1B. According to the text, the SS should have cut the ball off before it got into the OF, I think.

On this and a few other similar plays the 2nd baseman needs to cover 2B. It doesn't have any impact on the play but it does break immersion as the batter would simply continue on to 2b if this happened in a real game.

Now the SS has also developed ESP as he moves to back up a throw from the OF before the pitch is thrown.

That's probably true on a lot of these balls that leak into the stands, but the base hits over or near the dugouts still need to be fixed. I believe this is related to the change that created all the unnaturally curved foul balls. At least, I never remember this happening before that change.

I agree with you. The high fly balls to the RF & LF outfield were all going to CF then hooking right or left. I thought it was fixed after the last update but still see it with some other fly balls as you mention. As far as I know, there is no way for users to adjust the flight of balls.

This ball is visually hit out of the park, but the OF goes and finds it rolling down the street and heaves it back in at least as far as the OF bleachers to hold the batter to a double. (@ expansion Montreal Grounds)

Ground ball in the hole between SS and 3B. Rolen at 3B takes off after it, chasing it all the way to the LF wall (the LF is ignoring all this). Rolen beats the CF to the ball on the warning track, whirls *and throws Pedro Feliz out at 1B.* I know Feliz is slow, but ...

I would assume this is already known, but just in case, as you look at OOTP22, some more thought about cutoff positioning would be great. The relay throws and cutoff positioning is uniformly bad and harming to immersion.

Watching games--or watching Little League teams practice--you'll see relay/cutoff players putting themselves in a straight line between the OF and the C, as an example. In OOTP there is often a weird angle where the OF throws to the cutoff man who is far to the right of the straight line from OF to C.

After the patch, I still got one of those out-of-the-stadium but still inside-the-park home runs (Comerica Park). But the foul balls look much better. And I failed to say so, but I much appreciate the new infield hit varieties and ground-rule-doubles from an earlier patch. The work in progress in coming along nicely. Thanks for your continued work on the 3D.

Boggs is thrown out walking to first because Hrbek (1B) was able to run all the way to the right field wall to throw him out.

This one is a little weird, and it reinforces the cutoff man comment above. Base hit to RF, RFer rifles a throw to the 1B, who is in foul territory, behind the runners. 1B throws to 2B to nail the runner trying to stretch the single into a double. Text commentary complements the RF throw (which I know isn't this thread's focus, but still).

RF would have had a shorter throw going straight to 2B; if the cutoff was meant to matter, 1B should be halfway between pitcher's mound and 1B.

After patch, still getting one of these foul ball hits into the bleachers near or over the 1b dugout. Visually the ball is a fly ball into the stands that is clearly foul (as its around the dugout area) that is listed as a base hit - in this case a double. This one is at Target Field. Again, what makes it so visually bad, is its not a ball hit down the line near the foul pole. Its not even making it as far as 1B, but veering almost dead right into the stands over where the dugout is usually located.

Just before the ball is hit to the pitcher and ricochets off of him to the second baseman, who's standing near first before tossing it to the first baseman on the bag, a red line is drawn from the pitcher's mound to first. It appears for a split second just before the play starts, just before the pitcher begins his motion to the plate.

The clearly foul balls that are hits issue persists. This may be the first time I've seen it for a single. Ball is a liner basically over the 1B dugout--very, very foul.

This is not really an error, just an oddity I've noticed. I have seen a bunch of these plays over time where a ball ricochets off a pitcher, but don't remember ever seeing the trainer come out to check for injury. (example below) I would think in reality the trainer would be out 90+% of the time. It seems like a majority of times my CF makes a diving catch he gets an injury check - just seems odd that the same wouldn't be true of a line drive off a pitcher. Just something you might want to double check and make sure there's a subroutine for it in there.
