New to FHM6 & Players Under 26 in ECHL
I set up my new FHM6 and was super excited..decided to go to Challenge Mode and start as unemployed and unknown, and accepted a $12K salary (seriously?) for Florida EverBlades in ECHL. I made a few trades (just to see), but as this is an older player league, mostly...my roster of 18, only has 13 players under 26, and I need 14 in order to play the season. Other than trading some of my older players, are there any other options to get the season going? Prospects? Or? And I thought my roster could be 20 players, but limited to dressing 18. Thanks!

Try going to the player search, filtering for signable and under age 26, and signing a player from that list. You should be able to sign a player instantly if the game is in a state where you can't advance.

I've tried doing that and every time I get "contract maximum reached in the upper right box..." I've never signed a player and in the lower left it says I don't have enough money. Very frustrating. About to bail on this game with so many bugs.

ECHL in Challenge Mode - League Rules - No FAs
This seems to further complicate it...according to league rules in Challenge Mode, Free Agents can't be signed. So my game is basically stuck and can go nowhere at this point.

How many players do you currently have under contract?

Can you upload the save (instructions here)? I'd like to have a look at it, and I should be able to fix it for you.

I've shared the fixed file back to you on dropbox, you should now have 3 more under-26 players replacing some of the over-26 0.5-star guys you had signed but not on your roster. If you get into this position again, go to the depth chart screen and release a player in blue that is 26 or older, that'll open a contract slot to sign a younger replacement.
