State of FHM7 WRT Fictional Play

Long time fictional league OOTPer, who bought the original FHM and was disappointed at the lack of customization. I've checked in on the development of the game from time to time, but not to a great extent. Is the level of customization approaching at least the early years to mid years of OOTP with regard to fictional league play?

From my experience, it is still behind to OOTP Baseball when it comes to fictional play. The major difference is with OOTP, you can add all sorts of custom leagues that will interact with the "real leagues" of baseball. This is not possible to the same level with FHM.

With that said, its getting better in FHM. From watching the trailer and from questions answered on the forum, in FHM7 you can add multiple custom leagues in the Custom Game (which is basically a sandbox to have your own hockey universe) at the start of a new custom game. You have the ability to start with the NHL, AHL, and the 3 leagues of the CHL. From there you can add more custom leagues to that universe. It looks promising for creating custom leagues and hopefully the developers can leverage this in future releases to add to the standard game.

The Developers have stated the various challenges to do custom leagues with Hockey. Hopefully they hear this desire from the community to add this ability to the game in future releases. It's something I really would like to see in the Standard Game. With that said, I plan to continue to support FHM as I find it the best Hockey Sim out there. Adding 2D graphics with the ability to can watch your team play is going to be a major accomplishment for FHM. That was also on my "major wants" from FHM, so the developers took that off my list. Now hopefully we will see custom leagues in the standard game next year!
