Farm Team Control
In the Manager options there are two boxes associated with my two farm teams that are labeled 'staff'. Did I check these for Farm Team Control or leave them blank for Farm Team Control.

The Staff checkbox lets you hire staff directly for the farm team. If you have them selected in the team menu, any staff you hire will go to them.
