Humans can't lose players on waivers

Jeff,

Something i have long suspected is that the human players can't lose players on waivers. I had noticed that in FHM6 and maybe even 5, so I thought I'd experiment. It seems to still be the case. I took all my best 4-star kids (all with contracts of $2M or less) and waived them, one each day for 5 days. I didn't lose anyone. Meanwhile, the AI players are gobbling up lesser players from other AI teams.

I can concur that this is still happening. I had brought it up last year as well.

Yeah, something's not right there, it's ignoring waived players from the human but taking them from other teams. We'll have a look.

Did this swing a bit too much the other direction with the tweak for this latest patch? It seems almost impossible for any team (human or AI) to get a player through waivers anymore. Players in 1.5-2.0 stars range are being snapped up like they'll make a team a winner once waived.

Anyone else notice this?

Well, to make an experiment, I took my long-term sim and I waived in the start of 2027-2028 season:

Tim Stutzle 3.0/3.5 5,380,000 cap hit
Daniil Chayka 4.0/4.0 4.095.000 cap hit
Calen Addison 3.0/3.0 4 millions
Ville Heinola 2.5/3.0 3.875.378 cap hit
Aleksandr Danilov - a fictional player, 24 years old, my first line LW, 201 points in 216 games in his first 3 NHL seasons, with a very favorable contract at only 3.265.000$ cap hit for further 5 years...3.5/3.5

Only the first two were picked, both by the St. Louis Blues. In reality, who wouldn't pick these players up from waivers?? So I would say that even if the situation has improved, it can be better

I find if I have players down in the minors at the end of camp that need to clear they are never claimed but when I send them down during the year almost everyone is claimed, even 1.5 star players.

I'm playing as GM & Manager, have all the Team Control Settings set to me except control farm teams I have set to Staff. In the middle of a season I advanced to the next day and I got manager news that I (my team) claimed 2 players off waivers. I didn't, so I quit without saving, advanced the day again, and it happened again - except it claimed 2 different players this time. I thought it might have to do with my farm teams, but the guys show up on the NHL roster.

Shouldn't be possible, I'd like to have a look at the save to see what's going on there (uploading instructions here).
