Mine seem to be progressing now. How about yours?

Down 2-0 in the League Championship Series. Hopefully you're doing better!

Missed the playoffs by 3 games after making it 3 season in a row for the first time. Of course the team that went 130-32 and kept me out of the playoffs because I only went 4-16 against them loses in the first round 3-1. Rough division this year, and the league was strong all around too. My team totally blew it down the stretch though, only went 2-7 in the last 9 games and that was with the easiest end of season schedule of all the wild card hopefuls.
Interestingly, despite the cutthroat competition Stan Coveleski still finished the year with the league ERA crown, which hasn't happened for oh, 3 or 4 decades. A weird year for my team. |

Commiserations, Zorian!
We came back to win in 7 and get to the World Series. Haven't been there for a while.

I'm looking for HOF Walker or TOTD Betts if anyone gets a duplicate to sell to a good home for the last three months.

This year was a bit of a bust competitively. Finished 4th in the division, but went 84-78. Hopefully I don’t get dumped into another super division this year.
But I got Ewell Blackwell and the 98 Dwight Gooden card to drop in the same batch of card packs, and also got one hit wonder Matt Harvey for super cheap (30k)! Gooden and Harvey are both good enough to slot in my starting rotation. Thought Blackwell was too, but he appears to be a better long relief guy. His low velocity gets rocked if he is a starter. By far the best card drops I have had yet, especially given their proximity. |

We got knocked out in the wildcard game. Was a weird week. Managed 100+ wins but had an ERA over 3 for the first time in ages. Pulled a perfect Ruth (the one which can field, not Peak Ruth), so he went straight into the team in place of Yelich (also dumped Magee in place of Allen - I just can't get past Allen's mega ratings vs LHP - but I'm not sure I'm sold on the move yet). I've gone back to a mainly packs strat. Cash in earnings over the week for packs, sell off the dupes I pull and hopefully pull something good in the mix, finish any easy missions during the week, rinse, repeat. It's fun. My experience in PT20 has been that I've pulled more perfects than I should've but quite a few less diamonds.

Lost the World Series in 6 this week. Went 126-36 during the regular season, equaling my best ever season record. Happy to see the AH still seems as active as it was before the announcement that the game would stop in May.
No great pulls to report this week. The 1 card I'm particularly looking out for on the AH came up but it seems there are a few peeps after it. Bidding war ensued (it was too rich for me by the time I saw it), and it sold for something like 200,000PP above its average o.0

I got JR Richard 1979 Hardware Heros to drop. :0 I'm not sure what to do with him. I slotted him into my starting rotation over Matt Harvey, but he's been pretty meh. I don't mind the high ERA because over 5 starts anyone can do poorly, but control looks like his biggest issue and he's struggling even when he isn't walking many people (1.8 BB/9 so far), so that's a bad sign. Kind of tempted to sell the card, because it is worth 45-50k, and I don't think he would fit in my bullpen either. I'm a couple of cards away from finishing a big collection series of missions, so I'll have to think about it.
I'll finish with 96-98 wins this season, and an easy wild card. Not sure if #1 or #2, but meh. I was skeptical about making a deep run this season because I'm in the division with the best team in the league and he stomped me in the first half of the season, but I ended up finishing 6-10 against him despite starting 0-6. So playoffs might get interesting. |

All three teams in the finals. I really, really hope the Chiles win, my other teams have won 3 Perfects each and the Chiles have still yet to win a Perfect league despite 21 playoff appearances.

JR Richard 1979, Hardware Heros stats: 123 stuff, 74 movement, 57 control, 91 fastball, 111 slider, 93 changeup 96 stamina, 69 hold runners with 94-96 mph velocity and neutral fb/gb. He walks surprisingly few people despite the low control, but it seems to affect how many hits he gives up. The really baffling thing to me is I ran Bob Veale special edition in my bullpen with his 44 control for ages, and even with his 7-8 walks per 9, he did better than Mr. Richard has done thus far. I guess ground ball pitchers are just better if control is low. |

Despite a horrible week in PT21, at least 2 of my PT20 teams finally received another title.

Nice wins. I took a team to 5 games in the divisional series... historically they have trounced me, so almost there.
I managed to complete the peak Rube Waddell and the Sherry MaGee special edition missions. Waddell in time for the playoffs where he didn’t do much, MaGee was after. Should be able to finish off peak Rich Gossage within a couple of weeks, and then I can bench Kazuhiro Sasaki. Then my bullpen will be essentially complete. Starting 5 is currently Rube Waddell/Stan Coveleski/Vida Blue/Jon Matlack/Dwight Gooden. Then I just need a few more postion player upgrades (probably 2nd base and centerfield), and maybe I can win a perfect league before the end. I’m amazed at how much better my team got in 2 months. My bullpen went from a perpetual weakness to quite strong. Starting end of the rotation is much, much better. I felt like I barely improved the 6 months before that. |

The 'Glou won their 5th title. We beat 8-time champs St George Slammers in the Division Series, 20-time champs Jersey Revolutionize in the League Championship, and 5-time champs (who also scored 1069 regular season runs) Valinor Eagles in the World Series. No great upgrades to report. The mission cards I'm after keep eluding me, and I haven't had any great pulls to report over the last couple weeks. I guess I'm kinda at the stage where I'm content with my team, and there are only a few players I feel will improve it. My roster, if anyone's interested ![]()

Well, that would explain why you don't run into Waddell. :P
Sherry MaGee hasn't done nearly as well as I had hoped. He's currently doing about as well as special edition Andrew McCutchen's average season, but with 0.050 more OBP and much worse defense. Waddell started out okay, but man he has been getting rocked lately. I'm probably not going to make the playoffs this year. Sometimes it feels like nearly every player I have underperforms relative to what I see them doing on other teams. |

Ah, that sucks. Are you starting him every day? What are your other outfield options?
