A batting practice you say?

I haven't played this one since I only play my team games, but I have to post it...

Notice how the Cleveland manager gave up for the last third of the game and sent only position players to pitch...

Ha, waving the white flag early for sure.

Unlike today where teams have 13 or so pitchers on the active roster, I wonder if this happened more frequently back in the day. Managers with tired bullpens would rather concede a loss that is out of hand in the fifth, knowing that they have games over the next several days and will need arms.

In the sims I have been playing using the 70s and 80s players, anecdotally the AI managers tend to run their 5-man bullpens into the ground.
