When can you trade draft picks?
All my years of playing OOTP(since OOTP4), I've never really used this as an option. So in my fictional league where I'm changing things up a bit, I decided to use this. Under "rules" I checked both "Allow Draft Pick Trading", and at the bottom "Allow Major League Deals for Draft Picks". But into mid season, when I go to make a trade, I don't see where I can trade for draft picks? Can that only be done during the actual draft on June 5th?

I've never tried that but did you click the box during the offseason? It may be that you clicked it during the pre-season so it may not take effect until next season.

Ok, thanks. I'll finish out this season, and see what happens. I have eight leagues of four teams each, and have them together as an "association", so not sure if that makes a difference. Wouldn't think so.

There should be an option under trade draft picks which sets the time limit, from after a year to immediately. Change that setting as the default is 1 year

Just make sure, if you make draft pick trades to export your draft order and keep track of your trades in excel or google sheets and then import it at before the draft.
In the two games I have played and have done trades with draft picks, my orders kept resetting. Even though I didn't have my draft picks anymore, I would have them under draft order and if I traded for a #1, it would vanish. So do the work, export and have it in a google sheets and keep track and updated so that you don't lose your draft picks. I uploaded an example of what it looks like in google sheets so that you can see that it is in no way scary looking. |
