While importing players some countries won't work. There is wrong city of birth and I think that is why players don't have fluent language either.
Countries tested that won't work: Belarus Actually all players have wrong city of birth. However if that is from different country then player won't have fluent language. I think Custom Games (tested only with custom game) won't have correct cities.dat file? Last edited by Lappaacco; 03-11-2021 at 11:27 AM. Reason: Added image |

Yeah, it looks like the custom game's cities.dat is slightly different that the other formats; not sure why, it shouldn't be. If that's all it is, should be easy to fix, at least. A little experimentation shows that if you copy cities.dat from \quickstart_games\Historical.quick into the save folder of the custom game, overwriting the one that's there, it seems to fix that problem, but it breaks the city data for many/most existing players and teams.

Seems like there are also nations.dat and regions.dat files incorrect. Not only cities.dat.
But I got it working. I copied cities.dat, nations.dat and regions.dat from Historical -folder and moved them to OpeningDay folder after that I started new custom game and now I have correct cities for fictional players and I can also Import players without problems again. However I found if I import Mikhail Grabovski or Rod Langway then they don't have fluent language because city of birth is different than nationality. But those cities are still correct for them. |
