I *believe* guys with over the top tend to have smaller splits, while guys with sidearm have larger ones and additionally the game doesn’t generate players with certain pitches to be sidearm (in fact IME a lot of sidearm pitchers throw two pitches: the sinker and the slider).

Example...... a double down the line always results in a perfect throw to the base. Since it is known that the batter is safe, perhaps show the throw to 2B being offline a bit. Or to 3B or catcher. |

Would like to see a more detailed Manager History screen that has AB, H, R, ER... Basically, the way a player's stat screen is set up, but with added details about playoff runs (records even with winning WS!) Might be too late for initial release, but in a major update perhaps?

I'd really like them to fix reports. Right now, if I have 40 pages of reports to copy and paste to a spreadsheet, I have to open each page on my browser individually. This was actually addressed not too long ago, but OOTP crew never really got back with us. Maybe it isn't possible with how the system is set-up....and I know I'm in the minority on this request. Would be awesome if a list would show as one page.

I will use this post to make my annual Quixotic request to add umpires/crews into the game.
tighter/looser strike zones. Blown calls. ejection story lines... ect PLUS could track their stats as well cause we all know its important to know what the OPS+ and ERA+ of the umpire is... I mean it is for real not sarcasm |

I found what I thought was a loophole in the drafting too. You can't sign a player (ex. Mike Schmidt - wants a major league contract - playing on steam in linux won't let me offer...) . When the signing period expires, the player appears on the Transactions page. Offer a minor league contract - voila the player signs with your team. Your team maintains a 1st round draft pick for the following season as compensation.
I've seen this happen a number of times to the point where I don't really want a player to burn a draft pick I'll fail to sign them - gambling that the player will show up as a free agent and roll the dice that a better player will be available the following season in that slot. Meanwhile I sign the player to a minor league contract and continue to reap the rewards. Anyhow, would you consider this a loophole or part of the game? |

Didn’t that basically happen to JD Drew in the 90s? I think what happened there - and perhaps this should be in the game too but it’s probably not easy to implement - was that the team that drafted him (the Phillies?) were unable to negotiate with him for one year. I think they still retained draft rights to him as well so he wound up playing in an independent league for a season.

I would expect that if you can't negotiate with a player and you retain the draft pick that you either lose the draft pick if you sign the player a reasonable time after the draft, or like you suggest cannot negotiate with the player until then. That seems reasonable.
For now I've been taking advantage of the "loophole" and rolling the dice. I have noticed that if I forget to go back and offer a minor league contract that other teams snatch the player up. Quote:
