Official OOTP 22 initial impressions thread! - Page 8

Initially I was a little lukewarm on OOTP22 ... seemed like the year flew by and if this was going to be a light release and the team needed to focus a lot of the energy on OOTP Go I could understand that.

But my tune has changed quickly. The quality of the improvements in OOTP22 has me fully engaged now. Very intrigued by the coaching improvements and looking forward to having those in the core game. The UI changes look fantastic and in Perfect Team the revamped Manage Cards screen and the Perfect Draft are huge, huge adds! I also think some of the PT nerfs were well-thought out and will bring about welcome change. Nicely done!

Played about 3 hours last night!! This game is absolutely incredible!! Thank you guys for making such an enjoyable game. The new interface is awesome. Can't wait to play more tonight!!!!

I have not played a game yet but I am sooooo happy that coaches now can teach players! It was something I was hoping for like a roving instructor but this is better!
But why no pitching coach roles?

Did you try this fix that was posted in the bug report forum:

For those having display issues on a Mac, please try this:

1. Go to wherever the app is located, most likely in the Applications folder.
2. Right-click on the app that you would like to open in low resolution mode, and select “Get Info” to bring forth the information dialog box for the app.
3. When the Get Info dialog box opens, you should see an option that says “Open in Low Resolution.” What you need to do here is checkmark the box next to the option.
4. Close the Get Info dialog box after you have checked the option.
5. Now, double-click on the app to launch it

Thank you for the swift reponse! That did seem to solve the issue

Initial reactions.
1. Can't seem to offer minor league contracts to multiple players quickly, and when I offer to one, the screen shifts upwards. very annoying.
2. Continue button doesn't work when I want to play a game
3. OOTP always seems to slow down after awhile... one season in and the animation is no longer smooth.

None of that should be happening, so it would be helpful to have some info about your system, basic specs, OS etc. Also, the resolution you're playing the game in and whether windowed or full-screen since some of what you describe seems gui related.

Thanks for the lightning quick reply. Specs should be solid. Microsoft 10, i7, 32GB RAM, Nvidia 1080, etc. I was playing in the windowed screen (not full screen). I'll try full screen.

Two moderate nitpicks as I was running 32 sims of the *** for a podcast yesterday:

* The default 2021 *** schedule introduces 2-7 extra games per team. Should be 143, seems to end up at 145-150. OOTP 21's 2021 schedule for *** doesn't have this issue.
* It would be awesome to have the Higher-Seed Advantage to be applicable to more than just the first round. In ***, that rule applies only to the *second* round of the playoffs. Would save me a whole lot of save-scumming.

We had a report about this already and we're looking into it.

1) Balk, HBP, PB, and WP are as always way to prevalent. 3-3 9th inning. Leadoff hitter HBP, 3 consecutive WP get by Willson Contreras, Cubs lose. 4-1 on the season. There has been a balk in every game, multiple HBP, multiple PB, and multiple WP for both teams every game.

2) Starting pitching stamina is way too low. Looking thru box scores reveals elite pitchers struggling to get to\thru 5 innings. Bauer, Sale, Verlander, Wheeler, etc should be able to pitch more than 4 innings without being exhausted.

3) If I go to Game Settings, League Settings, Stats and AI and put SP stamina from .950 to 1.000 will this help?

4) Also, If I change Balk and WP to 0.001 will that do anything? PB seem to have a floor of 0.050. The game defaults to that if I set it to 0.001.

I agree on stamina. I moved it to 1.000. If that still isn’t ideal, inch it up incrementally.

I put up Dylan Betances, a washed up, overrated in game, RP for trade offers. Hey look, I can get Jose Altuve, or Trevor Bauer, or even Nick Castellanos or Wil Myers.

You saying Betances being "washed up and overrated" does not mean the numbers in game say so. Maybe your scout think he's decent, maybe their scout thinks he's decent.

Also trade difficulty means quite a bit in this game. Pump up the trade difficulty to very hard.

Sim a whole season and look up the numbers here and I'd almost guarantee you'll find they are right in the range of what they are in real MLB.

I read this same thing yearly but the actual stats don't match this theory at the default levels.
