Running fine thus far on my Mac Mini II with OS Catalina. Trying to make enough hard drive space to load Big Sur. I first bought OOTP 21 last year precisely because there was a Mac version, that other simulations lack. Have been very pleased and looked forward to 22. NOT disappointed.

The game looks great. Although, I would say that the OOTP Manual needs some work. For example, this version changed the location of "Upcoming Free Agents". The Online Manual didn't explain where to find. It just gives you the description of what it means.

Also, in regards to the Almanac...is there a way in future versions to provide overall Team vs Team for multiple years, instead of just the current year? Or even Team vs Team for Playoffs? I think that would be an awesome feature.

But honestly, the game was great before...and this year, you made it a real OOTP....Out Of This PLANET!!! Great job.

Not a huge issue really but one thing I've found is that when I'm trying to create a WBC like tournament, the country names are no longer showing, just the flags. It makes it pretty cumbersome to try and figure out which country is which. Any chance we could get the names put back in there?

Prefer an easy way to have a historical playoff in one particular season. For instance, I like a 30 team playoff of the 2020 teams. But it takes time to select and setup. Wish there was an easy mode like select season? Instead I have to work 90 different pull down menus.

It gets so tiring to hear people come on forums and bash the people that put numerous hours into an obviously solid game.

*News flash* Trade AI will never be perfect. It will never mirror real life. You cannot program everything to replicate real life. It’s simply not possible. That’s why they put a slider in the game, so you can customize based on how you would like your experience.

If really bad trades bother you, then put it on ‘very hard’. You will see a lot fewer bad deals. And even the ones that look bad, they generally have some logic. Generally involving a big contract. But this game does it better than any other one out there. The fact they put time and effort into it shows they want it to improve and it has. But we have to be reasonable. And if you really hate a trade, put it in Commisioner mode and reverse it.

I’ve simmed 10 seasons on ‘very hard’ trade difficulty and slid right on ‘favor prospects’ and it is much better than I’ve ever seen. I only seen a handful of trades that were really unrealistic. And just about everyone had a star player involved that wasn’t worth is contract.

I would just ask that you think about the hard work people have put in before you come on here and vent about one or two really bad trades you’ve seen. It is impossible to replicate real life. All we can realistically ask is they keep trying to improve it. And they clearly have for ‘22.

Thanks to the dev team for an awesome release. I’m not a huge fan of playing out games so the 3D stuff isn’t a big deal to me. But it does look amazing and may make me wanna play out more games this year.

And the ‘under the hood’ stuff they did has really made a big difference. That’s how I can tell these guys care about there consumers. They’d rather make the game better than put a bunch of flashy new additions on the advertisement. Ideally, they’d do both but it’s a small team and they always do plenty for it to be an easy annual purchase.

My Mets team is 0-4, and they're getting beaten like dusty throw rug. No game has been even close so far. I know I'm a lousy manager, but still...

Otherwise, the game looks great.

Edit: I apologize. This was supposed to be a reply to someone on this thread whose Mets team was 4-0. I just wanted to comment about the variability of the simulation. Anyway, I really like the many small and not-so-small improvements to the game this year. Unfortunately, I still suck as a manager, and Marcus can't really do much about that. :-)

Covid has done a lot of bad, but it’s also done a lot of good. I really like the new minor-league. I used to hate having to start my season setting up my minor-league team right at the jump, but the way the new schedule is going to May I absolutely love it.

Sure there are things that might be tightened up, but this is the first time I feel like I don’t have to do a restart and I’m actually above .500 and hell I can’t tell you last time that’s happened so I’m gonna keep it that way. I really like the game.

I know some people have talked about walks, but with the strike out rate being so high in the league that doesn’t cause me concern. I still see them and I’d rather have it the way it is even though I’m sure some people might make comments on it so if it’s tweak I don’t really mind but it’s one of those things we don’t get too much.

Most of the reviews are very positive. But in order to improve the game you have to allow users to voice their opinions even if it seems like like bashing or negative.

No that’s not what I’m talking about. I have zero issue with negative feedback. Just put it in a way that can help the devs and community get your point of view without being a total dick.

I’m referencing people that have nothing constructive to say. They just want to stop in and vent real quick. “This game is trash” or just spewing off. And then when someone gives them a reasonable response, they rip on that dude. That’s all. I just put myself in the shoes of people that work their ass off on this stuff. And when I see those types of comments on every page it just rubs me the wrong way.

Trust me I realize I probably should just stay off forums. But it can be a cool place to find other people that share passion for stuff like this.

Still playing with things but got my main league converted over.
Main Screen/ Team Home screen seems crisper.
Love that i can retire coaches
Love the coach history.
Love base coaches

EDIT: not sure if they dynamic camera was in 21 but loving this. i like that it will focus more on a fielder catching a ball.

My 1st game is vs a team in chase Field. It is soo much better than that blank screen version of past versions. i am waiting to see if theres any change in the version of Baker Bowl i use.

This is probably a question for PT, but why can't I or how do i use a custom park in PT? I can name it and change the dimensions etc but i just want to import it.Even if i just had the factors accurate.

I'll admit that I've gotten to the point where I am trying to train myself just not to read (and certainly not to focus on, and never, ever to respond to any longer) all of the silly messages from the people who only ever have negativity to bring to the conversation.
Constructive criticism is great and helpful. And there is much of that here. But there's also too much, for my tastes anyway, of just plain foolish belligerence and hyperbolic complaints.
It's just a game folks. It's something we do for fun. Lighten up! (Not you- that's my reaction to the type of posts you are describing above.)

It's a great game. And this community is largely friendly, intelligent, and supportive. But I'll admit that some of the never-ending negativity that a small percentage of folks bring here, over and over and over, starts to wear at me and make this all much less enjoyable.

This is the first year I waited for the Steam version so I am very late to the party. My first impression is WOW

I imported my v21 game where I am right at 54 games into my current season. For this reason I turned off the base coaches and cohesion. I'll turn them on once past the world series.

My game imported in 3 minutes with no issues. Didn't think I would like the tab look from the screenshots but in game I think they look great. Went through all of the skins and find only the dark works with my eyes. The white is usually too bright for my taste and it's the same with 22.

I do go through all settings to keep from being surprised down the road. It's a good thing as league evolution was on by default as were story lines. Everything else seems to have come through as set in 21.

I copied my sound folder from 21 and it all worked without issue, even stadium specific sounds.

The stadiums and player models alone make 22 worth the price. I've made several custom cameras and while playing with my Cubs at Wrigley I saw the broadcast booth has the Harry logo in the window as does the bar across the street

It's so nice to go from stadium to stadium and see real skylines.
My first game at Wrigley was at twilight and the view from behind the plate on the first pitch was beautiful.

Between 64 bit and whatever else they did to optimize the game it is blazing fast loading and saving. Could be placebo but I think the screens are a bit crisper in appearance.

I have always managed every inning of every game in my dynasty. OOTP 22 is a huge upgrade over 21 for this style of play.

How do you change the background on the league newspaper?
I've always used classic because it had the look of an old newspaper or baseball book.
Now its all in gray. Makes it look kinda boring.

I hate it when I accidently do that!

In OOTP 22 I can't seem to be able to delete the clone?

Can we get this as a config file edit or something? I never want to clone a player.
