Black screen after monitor goes off

In the past month or so, when my monitor shuts down due to power saving, when I wake it up, my OOTP screen has gone black.

The window is responsive, and when moving the mouse over the black area the pointer changes from arrow to finger when moving over areas of the screen, presumably in response to a button I can't see.

Resizing the window does not help.

Hitting the close button doesn't close the game, presumably b/c there is a confirmation dialog I can't see.

This is very consistent, but I cannot find any other mentions of this on the forum so perhaps I have some unique setup.

I have 3 monitors, and I always have the game open on my main horizontal display, but a side monitor is first to power back on when waking up (or at least I think that's what is going on) so the game always moves to a smaller vertical monitor and resizes. Not sure if that is part of the issue or unrelated.

Edit: I was able to exit out cleanly by clicking blindly at where I thought the OK confirmation button would be thanks to the pointer change.

Ok turns out this is not related to the monitor turning off.

This happens with great regularity to me when I resize the screen for any reason.

Windows 10 Enterprise
Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041

RTX 2070 Super
GeForce Game Ready Driver Version 451.48

If that is relevant.

I this happening only on Windowed mode, or does it change anything if you switch into fullscreen mode?

I don't use full screen mode, but I'll try to experiment with it for a bit.

I've had something like this happen a couple times on my MacBook, but I thought it was due to my using non-standard resolutions. I have to force quit the game to resume...but ONLY in PT and only when a dialog box comes up prior to sleep. I'll put up a trace file next time it happens.

I fully expect I play on a non standard resolution.. i just drag it until the window feels right to me.

I think the issue is that a confirmation dialog is on the screen and that is preventing the screen from getting redrawn.. is that possible?

I think I was mostly noticing this because of the introduction of Perfect Team and the frequent download prompts. However I just noticed it happened when i walked away with a salary offer prompt on the screen, and when I returned i got the black screen.

Ok this just happened to me w/o the screen turning off at all.

I was just sitting here with my browser open, covering about 50% of the OOTP screen behind it.

I clicked back to OOTP and the screen went black. It was about the time I was expecting a PT sim to finish.
