Very longtime league, looking for a few owners
- League name: The Antiquity League
- League URL: The Antiquity League - Home - League type: Historical (currently Off-season 2010-2011) - Number of teams: 28 - OOTP version: OOTP21 (switching to OOTP22 in August) - Ratings: 1-20 - Sim Speed: M-TH, 7-8 says per sim, approx. One Sim Month per Real Week. - Special Rules: Uses financial, coaching, modified medical, three minor league levels, MLEs for all players that ever played in the majors (and many that didn't) and most above average Japanese players, talent change randomness very, very minimal, NO scouting My league, the Antiquity League, is a twenty-eight team league that has been together since 1927 (Eighteen years and counting!). We have an extremely solid core of owners drawn from a variety of professions and acquaintances. Until our recent expansion, we had to replace only one owner in the previous sixteen seasons and that was due to his death. We are NOT a fly-by-night group of 19-year olds, but instead we are mostly older professionals. We have owners in their late-20s, many owners in their 30s and 40s and several that are now in their 50s and 60s. Our league forum is on Facebook, Slack and I also send out hand-made group emails after each sim. The Antiquity League draws from the 30 major league teams, in addition to using many players that were career minor leaguers (using MLEs for minor leaguers), plus we add about 5-10 Japanese League players per season. From 1927 to 1957 we were a a DMB league, but we switched to OOTP for the 1958 season. We sim approximately thirty sim days per real-time week and complete approximately four seasons in a calendar year. The league uses four levels of minor leagues, coaches and financials, but not scouting (and only a modified doctors system). The league webpage can be found at The Antiquity League - Home. All of our available teams have had caretakers, so you won’t be taking over a team that is in shambles. We are just starting the 2010-2011 off-season so you would have plenty of opportunity to improve your squad. The available franchises are: Solid teams Toronto Hogtowners * Until last week there were guided by one of the better OOTP owners, I've ever seen. Play in a competitive division with several good owners but they are in a position to win it with some additions and some luck. No DH league. * Best players are SP Felix Hernandez (24), RP Christian Garcia (25), 3B Masahiko Morino (32), OF Brandon Moss (27), 1B Travis Hafner (33), Miguel Tejada (34), 2B Marcus Giles (32), OF Jose Bautista (30), RP Rafael Betancourt (35), OF Saburo Omura (34), RP Edward Mujica (26), SP Gavin Floyd (27), C Wiki Gonzalez (36), C Guillermo Quiroz (28) and OF Magglio Ordonez (36). * Minor league system: 28th (RP Elvis Araujo, SP Robbie Ross, OF Jordan Schafer, C Hector Sanchez)). Drafting 16th in June 2011. Houston Christians * Two consecutive competitive seasons (89 wins average) after struggling for ten years since joining as an expansion team in 1998. Finished just two games out of the playoffs in a competitive division and they are primed for a good run. No DH league. * Best players are mostly in their prime and they are pretty loaded, including RP Jonathan Broxton (26), CF Adam Jones (25), SP Clayton Kershaw (22), 3B Josh Donaldson (24), SS Kiji Obiki (26), SP Yovanni Gallardo (24), 2B Stephen Drew (27), RP Nick Masset (28), RP David Robertson (25), 3B Hank Blalock (29), SP Gio Gonzalez (25), OF Felix Pie (25), OF Alex Rios (29), SP Ricky Nolasco (27), C Nick Hundley (27), OF Jon Jay (25), and 3B Ryan Zimmerman (26). * Minor league system: 20th (SP Dallas Keuchel, SP Yuki Nishi, OF Charlie Blackmon, OF Aaron Alther, C Devon Mesoraco, 2B Jason Kipnis). Drafting 22nd in June 2011. Competitive Oakland Oaks - * They’ve now ending their rebuild and stocked with good young players and a solid farm system. Solid division. No DH league. * Best players are mostly in their prime, including 1B Adrian Gonzalez (28), CF Denard Span (26), IF Neil Walker (25), OF Ryan Braun, 26), OF Justin Upton (23), SP Tsuyoshi Wada (29), plus SS Edgar REnteria, P Jorge Julio, P Jaret Wright, P John Grabow and 3B Scott Rolen. * Minor league system: 6th (2B J.Altuve, OF J.Upton, SS I.Desmond, P M.Shoemaker, C. S.Perez, C. W.Rosario, OF J.Reddick, 2B C.Getz, P W.Peralta)). Drafting 13th in June 2011. Montreal Expos - * The Expos have spent the last several seasons as a .450 team while they fix their finances and stock their farm system. There are opportunities to with the division. No DH league. * Best players are CL Kenley Jansen (23), 3B Pablo Sandoval (24), RP Wade Davis (25), RP Joel Hanrahan (29), SS Tsuyoshi Nishioka (26), CF Michael Saunders (23), SP Jason Hammel (28), 2B Luis Valbuena (24), 1B Chris Davis (240, SS Jung Ho Kang (23) and SP Mat Latos (22). * Minor league system: 11th (CL Aroldis Chapman, SP Brad Peacock, C Hank Conger, OF Khris Davis, SP Wade Miley, OF Eric Thames). Drafting 11th in June 2011. Rebuilding Chicago Orphans * Rebuilding team. They've gone 70-92 in two of last three seasons. Tough division. DH League. * Best players of a weak group are 2B Mark Ellis (33), CL Cesar Jimenez (25), RP Rob Tejeda (28), 3B Scott oore (26), IF Jorge Cantu (28), RP Boof Bonser (29) and a bunch of supporting players who have been forced into starting roles. * Minor league system: 17th (3B Manny Machado, OF A.J. Pollock and a bunch of supplemental players). Drafting 8th in June 2011. I take an inordinate amount of care on the Antiquity League and I think that you will be very pleased to be a member of the league.
