How far can you go?
I love FHM 7. Have been playing this series since FHM 4. Actually left franchise mode on all the NHL games all together because of this game lol. But just have a simple question. I am a GM on a custom league I made. How far will the game run? In NHL it was 25 years...Is this longer? If I "retire" do I get to make a new character and continue on the same save file and everything or how does all this go?

I don't think there is any time limit. I saw some saves going well into 2070s. Just check some of the posts in the dynasty section.

Im already in 2092. I see the game isnt such fast run, as it was in 2040-2050. Because i work a lot with my PC, i run it in the background. Otherwise it would be unplayable. Because now to sim day-to-day it takes about 3-4 minutes (estimate, didnt count it). Even more in off-season. |

It would be useful when playing longer games if there was an option to free up memory by simplifying some of the statistical data as you go along.
e.g. only show career stats totals for retired players, rather than retaining full season by season records. |

I believe a save file is tied to a specific GM (either a real one or one you created) so if you retire then you are unemployed until a team hires you or you take over a team. I could be wrong but I think that's how it works. My GM started the 20/21 season and was fired in the 51/52 season. I thought I would be able to create a fictional GM and have him take over my old team but it was still the original GM. Since I didn't want to start over with another team I took over my previous team (and in the 52/53 won the Presidents Cup & the Stanley Cup ![]() My GM is also 89 years old but I'm guessing there is no forced retirement for the GM you are playing as. |

No, once you retire your GM you're immediately prompted to create a new one, who can take over any team.

I tried this and running into some major issues (the GM I create isn't the one that is displayed that I'm controlling and it keeps wanting me to create a new GM everytime I hit continue on top of not actually allowing me to be the GM I created). I posted more info here: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=330007 Thanks Last edited by belial1134; 06-23-2021 at 10:36 PM. |
