Rookie Age Limit

Is there not an option to set the age of rookies coming to majors. Seems I have too many 17-19 year olds and I a find it annoying.
Pretty sure there is an option for this but I cant seem to find it.

Thanks

there's a new setting that allows you to increase percentage of college level draftees vs HS... league settings - options? or wherever you find the settings related to draft in that vicinity.

Im playing in 1958 right now, historical. This issue doesnt involve created rookies, its just how quickly historical rookies are coming up. ie Dean Chance is currently 17 and Starting. Carl Yastrzemski is 18 and playing everyday with the Orioles (they drafted him). There are others.
I thought there was a setting that set age limit of rookies. ?

You shouldn't have to setup a rule because that shoudln't be happening in the first place unless you changed the development modifiers.

While I've played OOTPB for years I've never touched Development Modifiers.

I'm assuming you are referring to the "Player Development Settings" in Players and FaceGen tab.
I haven't changed any of them. They are all at 1.000.

Also noticed the game is using ALOT of players that never reached the majors, which I am ok with.
Could these 2 "issues" be connected?

Hoping its some minor setting that I missed when I set up this franchise.
As someone who strives for realism and historical accuracy (as much as possible) there are just a few too many 17-19 year olds playing significant roles. ie if Yaz takes a spike in ratings, he will likely be one of the best hitters at 19.

From what I have read in other threads, this is likely a result of using the historical minors database.

The minor league translations sometimes make guys ready for the big-leagues before they were brought up in real life, something that is likely difficult to avoid unless they just make all minor leaguers really awful.

If you want more accuracy, probably need to remove the historical minors.

OP wasn't asking about created player age; OP is asking about making teams not call up players until they reach a certain age.

That setting's never worked properly for as long as I've been playing OOTP.

This is what ends up happening. My favorite mode is historical. With historical minors on, if a player tears up the very low levels of the minors (usually rookie ball), they will come in with inflated ratings when they import into the draft. With recent patches, I have noticed fewer players going directly to the majors from the draft in a historical game....but still a few players that are too young (17-19). FWIW, I have found in my tests that imposing an age limit at the MLB level leads to bizarre releases of top prospects.

I always play historical and I have always turned on historical minors because I thought that is what puts all the teams "historic prospects" in the systems.
I guess it really doesnt matter because after a few seasons the system becomes filled with non-historic prospects.

Next time through I will turn off historic minor leageus, see if I get same problem.

All the 17-18 yearolds that are coming up have jacked up ratings in some capacity.
Dick McCauliffe as called up at 17 but his Defensive Ratings were all 65, plus. Yaz, 65 Gap Power, Chance 70 in something.

league settings - rules - has an option fo minimum age for ML roster. oops.

http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/...ame_page.rules

there are a lot of overlapping settings that could impact this. there is another setting that impacts rate of development.for fielders (and pitchers) that's in the 'game settings' or 'global settings'? something to that effect.
