Bronze
The Gang, with only 6 OL games played so far, are on top of a very small hill. Bluffton and Gear Terrace are close behind.

Silver League:
Only 10 more games played, and OL got a bit tighter. Technically, we're just 3 games away from everyone being at .500!

Mundys Fall Back, but Hold On
Port Ruppert, off a 4-6 month, still kept the lead as the teams' records regressed to the mean, with Texarkana, 5-1, and HelthWyzer, 3-0, moving upward, while Asheboro, Algoma, and Paxville all were 1-2.

After an 0-8 start to the season Coney Island has played two games over .500. This week more of the concentration has been put into tweaking my bronze tournament team. I am averaging earning 20-25 packs a day but a lot of them come from 2nd-4th place finishes.
Last version I made the mistake wanting to constantly improve the Warriors and the results were haphazard at best. I burned through my points too fast until I ended up bouncing between Silver and Gold. This year I am acting more like a GM with a budget and priorities to improve the team and it will take as long as it takes. I did start working on Sugar Hill as I mentioned this past weekend and in the middle of revamping the roster I stopped. I think I need to concentrate on just one team. I will still take a minute every Sunday to check their friend list. Maybe they can be the bronze welcoming committee for OL teams that pass through. |

Diamond league:
Cary continues to be the cream of the crop in OL play, with Nowhere, Waffletown and Annandale bunched up, looking to make a run in the second half. |

Open the Doerr!
Both my OL teams have been slightly neglected and frankly pack unlucky for quite a while. I have had very few good pulls since Helthwyzer pulled Chicken Wolf right after he came out a few months ago. I have had no non-live Perfects at all this year until Bobby Doerr came a-knockin' at Algoma's Perry Field. (My non-OL team has not had any perfect pulls lately but definitely a lot of above average pulls the last 2 weeks). Generally, I am feeling my pack luck is changing!

Paxville are very much a Gold level team right now. Several OL teams are significantly better. They belong in Diamond, but are faced with a league that is probably closer to Perfect. There are things I dislike that I can accept. The AH limit and the max card limit are top of that list. OL being paired with DLL (more often than not) is not acceptable IMO. I'm not saying that it's deliberate, but some aspect of code is putting them together. I would like to see that same process NOT put them together .

If we’re getting paired with them same non OL groups a lot, double check your friends lists and see if you have any non OL teams tagged there…. If someone has a DLL team, or some other nonOL team (and that team has DLL friended) that could be one reason… otherwise, it is just random dumb luck Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I don't think the logic routine to sort out teams is very complex. I strongly suspect it basically collects all the OL teams per level, puts them into a league, then does the same with the next group. that would result in OLs and DLLs ending up in the same league if they were processed back-to-back. It would be nice if each group was assigned a different league and then filled up using independent teams - but there's no indication that kind of logic is included.
I'm hoping that the decision makers will give the team assignments some extra thought. I know it doesn't earn them any more income, but it doesn't seem that it would take a lot of time either.

This week shows that there is real potential for the OL/DLL thing to harm OL's structure. A big problem with PT21 was the huge jump between Gold and Diamond. OL are probably looking at an even greater gulf, and an overly high chance of relegation if they have to face DLL regularly. Then the top tiers of OL may end up with poorly distributed teams, and that would suck!

At least we got a couple games back from the Mundys. That 1-5 start against them is going to be hard to recover from.

The ideal thing, at least to me, would be for them to allow dedicated friends lists where the teams could stay together regardless of their level, with no promotion or relegation. If you get 30 teams together, then, although it would be a bit cumbersome, and might take a couple of weeks, you could get close to structuring the leagues so that the rosters could be unique. You'd probably have to limit the amount of various level cards per team at first, but I could imagine an OL with 30 unique teams where you could use the auction house to make "trades" of players. I think it could be easily coded into the sort routine, but I can't imagine it ever happening. As I have said, probably enough times that you're tired of hearing it, I have suggested this and have yet to have my suggestion even acknowledged. Since the devs have been very responsive for other questions I have had, I guess it's a non-starter. |

I am not sure this is bad...

Currently, out of the seven OL teams in diamond, none have a winning record, and 4 of the seven are currently in relegation position. This includes Cary, who are the "first team in relegation position". I wouldn't mind getting relegated back down to gold where I have a chance of having a winning record for a change and perhaps even make the playoffs a few times before having to move back up to diamond.

Kaipo beat Boston 2-1 to take the only series played yesterday. I'm looking forward to the Shiners having the chance to drag themselves off the bottom! Keystone are going along like a train in the NL East, so I'm also looking forward to the likelihood that the Kops and the Kings will meet for the first time next week!

. DLL can make solid Diamond teams look a bit like Gold wannabees! Diamond OL could be decimated, and Gold OL made top heavy. We'll see... I don't want to be too pessimistic

I have found since PT20 (I only played 19 casually) that it is common that you see several of the same teams if you and they stay around same level whether or not they have a designation like OL or DLL. There are three teams like that in bronze this week that don't appear to have any connection to a group or use friends list. I can only assume that as promo/relegation happens the teams from the previous week only get spread so much so if one DLL gets put in a league with an OL team all the others follow. I don't feel its grouping friends lists together. Not this week, but there has been in with Coney Island called Kenner almost every week. |

OL G302 Race Tightens and Widens
Another month where teams played close to .500, saw the top teams play slightly below and the trailers slightly above as they continue to meet in the middle. There are enough games left, and the spread is narrow enough, that any of the teams could make a stretch run to the crown.
