Only Some ECHL Teams Playing

Hey all, quick question: I took over the 20-21 Ft. Wayne Komets of the ECHL, and I selected "real start," which I now wonder if that was a mistake. I did all the set up work for the team and even played a slate of pre-season games. After that, there is nothing on the schedule. I decided to proceed a day at a time anyway. But then I get news about other teams' players getting suspended for incidents in the previous game, and sure enough, about half the league has played a couple of games, while the other half hasn't at all (and has none on the horizon). I don't think this is what happened with the ECHL, or at least not with Ft. Wayne. Is this just something I live with or is it broken?

Several of the ECHL teams (Adirondack Thunder, Atlanta Gladiators, Brampton Beast, Cincinnati Cyclones, Idaho Steelheads, Kalamazoo Wings, Maine Mariners, Newfoundland Growlers, Norfolk Admirals, Reading Royals, and Worcester Railers) temporarily suspended operations for 20-21, and that's included in the real start option. Fort Wayne originally planned to suspend as well, so they also have no schedule in the game, although they did resume playing games in mid-February.

Random side note: I haven't done much standard game, non-NHL stuff with FHM. But I am an absolute dumping ground for both Vegas and Henderson of the AHL. I have five goalies, none of whom are mine. Of the 20 players on my active roster, exactly three are mine. Will the logic prevent the parent teams from sending more than 20 players? That is, will I ever get in a situation where I can no longer progress because I have in excess of 20 players, all of whom are under NHL or AHL contracts (rather than mine in the ECHL)?
