The Brewster Baseball Association - Fictional, Writing, Podcasting, Long History

The Brewster Baseball Association (BBA) is on OOTP 22!

The BBA is one of the longest running and most immersive leagues in the OOTP Universe. We're heading in the middle of the 2049 season (league history goes back to 1973) and we have multiple openings in our sister league in the same universe, the UMEBA.

The UMEBA is used as a league for new GM's to acclimate to the Brewster and for old GM's when they want to stay in the BBA but need to step down the time commitment.

League members publish an annual Media Guide (archives here) regular statistical analysis, fictional storylines, podcasts and much more.

This is the league you want to be in. Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful GMs, with just a touch of insanity thrown into the mix. Maybe more than a touch... Spend a few seasons in UMEBA, a terrific league in its own right, and maybe you’ll want to move up to the more complex Brewster- or maybe not. Podcasts, a 100-page media guide, a rich history... other leagues seem like stale beer after sampling the Brewster.

It certainly is an addictive league, I first joined in 2010 ( real life time) and despite life getting in the way on more than one occasion I keep on being dragged back. There suddenly becomes a hole in your life and you realize that you’re missing the BBA. That’s because over the eleven years I’ve known the Commissioner, Matt, he has been the most consistent Commish I’ve ever known, he puts his heart & soul into making the BBA the most engrossing experience ever. The Gm’s help too, always willing to help, no request for help on the very active forum & discord ever goes unanswered. It’s the OOTP version of Hotel California “you can check out but you can never leave”
You won’t regret trying it.

I've been in this league for 6 fictional seasons, and for about 20 months now. It's a great bunch of GMs, all so helpful. If you are worried about the writing commitment, the UMEBA is a great place to get your feet wet. I was there my first season and won the championship (shameless plug). You find yourself becoming more attached to these 0&1 that simulates games for you when you do write about your team, its not as much of a time commiment as you might think. Once you get going its hard to stop

Seriously, this league has been around way before me, and its showing no sign of slowing down. Recte and the rest of the GB are great. Each owner brings their own flavor to the league, and so can you!

Sign up, look around and participate - even if you aren't in the league yet.

Hope you see you in the Brewsterverse!

Can confirm it's a great online league. I am currently in the UMEBA, and it's just as competitive as the main league, there's also an extra challenge in playing with lesser players as you have to work harder to find that "diamond in the rough". The GMs are all very active and constantly talking trades and sharing insights.

If you like writing and living your team this league is for you. The Commish is solid and consistent and the GM’s friendly & helpful.

It is a bit of a shock when you first start out, this is no just download & export league, you have to get into the involvement. The UMEBA is a perfect starting point. It gets you into the BBA universe without having as demanding a participation level as the actual BBA. You have time to learn the ropes while waiting for the occasional vacancies that occur in the BBA.

So, go on! Start your road to glory in the BBA now, apply for a vacancy in the UMEBA and take that first step

Whilst no longer in the Brewster Universe it is the best writing league to be in, starting in the UMEBA also gives you a feel foe the league.
