Replacement umpire Dick Feaser watches the Royals' U.L. Washington making a tag at second base. The photo is from the Danville (KY) Advocate-Messenger of May 16, 1979.

Not much of a view of Feaser's face, but we may not find any better photo of this 5-game major league ump.

For 55 years a Wendelstedt has ump'd big league games. This is Harry at the 1968 All-Star Game in Houston.

His son Hunter has the distinction of having ejected me from my only game in uniform, as the bench coach for the Eastern League Reading Phillies in 1996 (it was a set-up, and very, very funny)

The beloved, gigantic (6'6") ump who liked to entertain kids with magic tricks, he died in midseason 1988. This is from Shea Stadium in the '60s.

For a brief stretch in '69 there was an NL umpire, an NL outfielder (of course), and an AL outfielder who all answered to "Billy Williams."

Dale Davidson 1979 MISSING UMPIRE their is no record for him??? There is a Dale Davidson in the Softball HOF. I just came across his obit where it says he umpired MLB. ??

This is the replacement umpire who officiated six games in Cleveland in 1979. His photo was found by Penale52 in 2014 (since removed) on Davidson's Greater Cleveland Area Slo-Pitch Softball HOF plaque.

In color! Texas League ump who worked exactly 18 American League games in late ‘70 and early ‘71. This is from a fan’s Polaroid at an Arkansas Travelers’ game from August or September, 1968. He’s shown with Larry Barnett (left) and the plate umpire, Ron (no name provided and a search of Newspapers.com has proved fruitless), with Avents on the right.

Ordinarily I’d snap the photo up and scan the original but the eBay seller has a slightly exaggerated sense of its worth and priced it at $500!
