Historical Salary issues
I'm playing an historical game in which the PCHL/WHL does not fold in 1926, but continues on and evolves into an early predecessor of the WHA, with a mixture of future WHA and NHL franchises.
I'm now into the 1960's and have some issues around salaries: Firstly , although the NHL minimum salary increases over time, the WHL minimum has remained at $1000 p.a. This is the same level it began at in 1917 and there appears to be no way to increase it. Secondly, I tried turning on the 'entry level contracts' option. When I do this the contracts are set to two-way deals with a minimum fixed value of $10000 p.a. and minor league salary of around $550. However every player immediately declines the offer and say they 'require a higher minor league salary' , but the amount is fixed and cannot be increased. |

Odd, the minimum should always be scaled to the era financial adjustment for every league, even with editing on. I'll have to experiment a bit, it sounds like it may be re-setting that value to the original default when the league is kept active after its end dates.
I think I know what the second one is; the formula the ELC rules use for minor league salary is based on the relative proportions in the current NHL, and using it in a lower-salary era probably drops the minor league salary (since it gets so small) to a level that's below what the players can accept. I think the simplest way around that is probably just for us to make the actual ELC standard salary amounts editable, rather than just having an on/off setting for it. |
