Historical game - Disappearing transaction log after a few years
Using current public beta version on Steam
I started a league in 1992 and simmed until 2025. I notice that transaction logs of previous years seem to disappear after a few years. Is it a bug or is there a way to keep them all? Last edited by magik; 09-11-2021 at 05:36 PM. |

I also encountered this problem, the only thing kept in transaction logs from early seasons are player retirements.

I'm playing a game since 1917, with the WHL continuing after 1926. I'm now in 1973 and the NHL, WHL and WHA are all running.
Any franchises that existed back in 1917 still have transaction logs but they only show trades and retirements. There are no logs for defunct franchises, but I have some teams that existed , went defunct, then existed again, sometimes in a different league, and the logs are still there while the team is active. I did notice that retirement transactions seem to be a bit hit or miss, some seasons they get recorded, sometimes they don't. In FHM7 the players pop-up profile box was added to the transaction logs, it appears when you hover over a players name. However I've noticed that for retired players this either doesn't work, or it displays the wrong player. Clicking on the players name does take you to the correct player screen however. (Note: it would be nice if this feature could also be activated on transactions in the players career history screens). Also I have occasionally changed the number of draft rounds, so there are trade transactions that now show player X traded for the 0th pick, because that pick no longer exists. Another annoyance is that transactions display the latest team name for the franchise, rather than it's team name at the time. For example Cy Denneny apparently won the 1918 Hart Trophy with the St Louis Eagles, not the Ottawa Senators, even though the franchise wasn't called that until 1935 and then only for one year, long after he had retired.
