Announcing "The Big Idea with Scott Braun" featuring OOTP 22!

Announcing “The Big Idea with Scott Braun”! Our brand-new video series launches TODAY!

If you could manage ONE game between ANY two teams in MLB history – who would it be?

Scott Braun – host of MLB Network’s Emmy Award-winning studio programming since 2012 and regular play-by-play announcer for MLB’s Game of the Week on YouTube – will have a special guest join him every Wednesday all summer long to manage their dream Major League Baseball matchup in Out of the Park Baseball 22.

The Big Idea with Scott Braun series begins airing today on June 30th at a special debut time of 7 PM ET on https://www.twitch.tv/ootpdevelopments and will air every subsequent Wednesday at 8 PM ET for 9 more episodes.

Our first episode features former MLB General Manager Jim Bowden, managing a game between two of his terrific Reds teams. Future guests include Buck Showalter, Alanna Rizzo, Peter Gammons, Cliff Floyd, Yonder Alonso, Jeff Passan, JP Morosi, Sarah Langs and Jon ‘Boog’ Sciambi.

Every episode will then be archived on our YouTube channel so that you can watch them anytime, wherever you are!

Thank you everyone!

I just watched the first episode last night and it was awesome! Scott Braun did a great job as always and Jim Bowden really was a fun guest. Bowden genuinely looked excited and like he was having fun. It was so cool to hear his stories, too. I'm looking forward to more episodes.

I'm hoping we get to see Buck Showalter manage his 1995 Yankees versus Joe Torre's Yankees from the late 1990's.

Loved hearing the insider stories while they played. The story about the Reds not being able to trade Hal Morris because his wife gave Marge Schott a nice Christmas gift is priceless.

i can't wait to hear Buck Showalter, too. And, hopefully, they can get some other former managers to participate. i really enjoyed listening to Kevin Kennedy "think" his way thru a game.

I agree. I bought Kevin's book and use a lot of his strategies when I manage OOTP games. Would love to see Kevin Kennedy come back and do a 1995 Red Sox vs 2003 Red Sox.

Loved watching episode with Alanna Rizzo. It was a lot of fun and Alanna is one of the most beautiful and knowledgeable sportscasters in baseball. I love that her and Jim Bowden both genuinely seemed to be having fun.

I love this!!! Here’s an idea for the show: a career game that might spend a segment or two each episode. Scott could document his progress each week and discuss strategy along the way.

Great idea! I hope they get Bob Costas to do an episode. Costas grew up a huge Strat-O-Matic fan and I think he would love OOTP if he doesn't already.

I've been enjoying the show as well. One possible suggestion - what if each guest plays their OOTP game for a charity of their choice, and a certain amount from OOTP/MLB gets donated if they win the game? It might add some more excitement and get us all more invested in a Win.

Rich,

I LOVE "The Big Idea with Scott Braun". Do more! You inspired me to do my very own historical winner-take-all matchups. Rich, you'll be pleased to know that I managed your 1988 Mets versus the Oakland A's of that season and the Mets won 3-0. David Cone struck out 15 and Randy Myers got the save. So much fun!

If I had to choose ONE rematch, I would replay Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS between the Florida Marlins and Chicago Cubs. I'm going to do it very soon, probably this weekend, with the same lineups and rosters and pitching matchups.

For future guests, I suggested Bob Costas in an earlier post. How about Bill James? I think Bill would love playing and managing OOTP as would Rob Neyer.

Rich, can you confirm or deny whether or not we will get new episodes this year?
