https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-surp...-in-big-spots/ Basically, this article says bad pitchers are worse in the post season, but not as bad as you think. It also shows good pitchers get worse in the post season, but are still bette than bad pitchers. At least I think that is a fair summary. The article doe not talk about hitters in any way, however if bad pitchers are worse and good pitchers are also worse, does that not mean all hitters, as a group, do better in the post season? And if that's true, doesn't it mean hitters over pitchers in the playoffs? So good pitching does not really exist in the playoffs, so it can't stop good hitting. So I'm puzzled by this statistical analysis.

Me too. It just seems that Braves pitchers shut down the Astr*s offense for the most part.

I was thinking, though, that at least you had the guts to be that positive. Not a bad prediction at that point, either, given the Astr*s track record in post season play vs. the inexperience of the Braves.

Heh, the local paper was talking about "The Thing Everyone Wants but No One Actually Wears." That is, a World Series ring.
One big reason is its size: Quote:

Notice that it has Loria's name on it. ![]() What is much more desirable and more likely to be worn? A Hall of Fame ring. "That ring is more understated, with a simple baseball atop a black backdrop on its face." Craig Biggio:

Max Scherzer and Carlos Correa are on the top of the my Seattle Mariners free agent wish list for the winter.

I'd want more info on the 37-year-old Scherzer's health after his late season fade, followed by his postseason struggles, ending with his not taking the ball in game 6 vs the Braves...

I love Scherzer, but I would hate to pump $25M+ into him per year with this exact constellation there...
