That image was shared here by Bearman (image long since deleted) in 2007. The source was given as Ken Wenger, but I have no further information about it.

From the Pegasus UIN files, here's Freeman in his brief tryout with the Red Sox. He was pictured in the June 14, 1927 edition of The Boston Globe.

At least, He got a chance to play CF in his last game, to have seen several Hall of Famers played that day... sheesh, what a lucky bloke...

Facepack upgrade, pictured with the 1888 Canton team. The newspaper made a remark that he "could still pitch even though he was well over 200 lbs this season."

Grimes made it into 3 games for the 1897 Browns, not meeting much success. He had been the star pitcher for the Evansville team earlier in the year. He is pictured here in 1935 at his wife's family reunion via ancestors.familysearch.org.

Slowly but surely we are finding them! I spent nearly all day looking for John Greenig, the last Civil War veteran to play in the MLB, but found Grimes instead. Works for me!
