Jeff, I have enjoyed playing the game since the inception and the 2D promises some exciting things down the road. I have mentioned that adding player names would help a lot but it occurs to me watching more and more that I can not watch the action and read the text at the bottom at the same time. Have you ever considered adding pop up text boxes on the ice that follow the puck ? For example, goalie makes a great glove save and a text box quickly comes up ( great save ! ) or ( pad save - no rebound ) . Perhaps when a penalty occurs a text box explaining what happened. Perhaps during faceoffs a text box could pop up saying that the ( Canucks have the momentum now ) .. things that could easily be visible while watching and would really add to the immersion factor. Text boxes could pop up after a power play ( 2 shots on that power play ) for another example. Honestly, you would not need the text at the bottom at this point. Just wanted to share a thought ..

I found this before adding a new thread about names on the 2d blocks. Surprised no one had any further comment. I really like this idea.

My initial thought is much more pedestrian. I am wondering if it were possible to put names above the blocks in 2D as opposed to numbers? I am new to the whole hockey scene and I don't know numbers the way the veterans probably do.

I am really enjoying the hockey experience. More improvements to go? Of course, what a great start. I have been with OOTP since version 3 so I am familiar with the lifeline of something like this.

We added that option. Go to settings on the main screen and you can change it.
