EIHL Issue

In the EIHL there is a two week release clause built in to every contract for players/teams, in the game you have to buyout the contract which is not correct.

It's actually set up to use a 2-week buyout in the database, but it appears that the game is still using the full amount for some reason. We'll get that fixed.

As mentioned in another thread, the two week buy out clause is still not working. I have now played a few more seasons and found the following issues:

Import Recruitment:

There is a restriction on the number of foreign players in the game, in the EIHL in real life you can have more foreign players on the roster but can only dress 14. Nearly every team carries extra imports to cover injury, for example Cardiff have two import netminders and one British netminder. They rotate the import netminders every other game. Currently in the game you are capped at 14 which is not realistic.

Even when you have scouts set up in America/Canada most of the players you can recruit in free agency window are from Europe. I was the Coventry Blaze and could only really find players from the VHL/MHL, Metsis, SHL or a handful from the NCAA. In reality a number of the players in the EIHL are Canadian/American, Elite prospects breakdown of imports:

Canadian: 94 Players
American: 28 Players
Finnish: 7 Players
Swedish: 5 Players
Czech: 2 Players
Latvian: 1 Player
Norwegian: 1 Player

When I filtered down on the 1st July to Canadian, I could only see 8 signable players.

Contract Length

Every signing is asking for a two year deal, in reality unless they are very special or on a uni deal in the EIHL they will only ever get a one year deal.

Hall of fame voting

This may be a GM thing, but as the EIHL gm I was being asked to vote in the HHOF vote.

I will keep using this threat if I find any more issues.

The 14-player import restriction is deliberate and applies to a few other leagues as well; it creates too many problems for the roster AI to have roster spots used on players it can't dress.

For the free agents, I think the basic problem is that players tend to be less willing to move from one continent to another, particularly for a lower-level league; I'm seeing it in the Australian league as well. I think we may need to add an exception for players moving to a country where they already speak the main language, that should free things up for those leagues.

You're asked to vote on the HOF regardless of your employment.

As someone who plays European leagues a lot, I think in general there should be more minor league (ahl/echl) players moving to Europe. In real life the majority of imports in leagues like DEL or IceHL are former ahl/echl players, but in fhm once you reach season 10 or so almost no imports are North American.

Actually the market in real life is a lot about who can get the best ahl-er and who might find a cheap but surprising player in ECHL, but in fhm the few north Americans moving to del or icehl are from sphl (which in real life never happens) and college (which happens, but not very often as teams prefer somewhat established minor leaguers for the import spots).
