OHL Draft Pool - only 4 rounds of players available

I started a standard game save as the Ottawa 67s, went through the first season, but when I got to the draft there were only enough players have n the draft pool (81) to complete four of the 15 rounds. With my first round pick at 16 overall, the best player left was 1.5 star potential.

Is this normal? This is the second save I have done where there was a major issue with not enough game generated players for the draft where I now have to start over.

and who knows whether it will work next time I start? there seems to be no way to view the draft pool until the draft starts aside from the monthly shortlist provided by your scout.

The only thing I can think of is that I disabled the ECHL, SPHL and LNAH for this save.

I think some changes we made to remove useless players from the starting player pools may have cut a little too deeply into the lower-level Canadian junior prospects, someone mentioned related issues with Q prospects yesterday. I'm going to open those up a little more in the update, I think that should get you more starting prospects.

Seems weird that a fix designed to remove useless players from the draft pool would result in basically only useless players being left in the draft pool.

Yeah I just got to the draft in my QMJHL save and there isnt enough players to get thru the 10th round. Very upsetting. I've spent about 40 hours on this dynasty now and its ruined. Even if they fix this will the update go into this save for next years draft?

The draft will fill out normally with generated players after the first 1-2 seasons, the problem is a lack of players being generated at the start of the game because I turned off extra at-start player generation in a couple of places I shouldn't have.

Okay thats good news thanks Jeff. I will continue with my dynasty than because I got a full 10 rounds in the Q draft before it ran out of players. I figure most those late round picks don't ever get signed anyways so it shouldn't be much of an issue than.

Yup, I've already changed the necessary settings in the database.

Next week. But it's hardly unplayable now, the draft pools will fill out normally as newly-generated players become old enough.

you cannot be serious. 1-2 years of this level of draft class means the whole league will be starved for decent players until year 4 or 5. and that’s if you’re right about the cause of the problem.

This appears to be happening in FHM8. 14 5-potential guys and 21 0.5-potential guys available in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, total. I started a new, different OHL game to see if it was a glitch; it too contained the same 35 guys.
